Double, last of Elvis' horses, passes away
Double, a Tennessee Walking Horse and the last of Elvis
Presley's surviving horses, died suddenly on Friday,
January 14, 2005. He was 32 years old.
Elvis died, there were still five horses at Graceland,
all of which, with superior veterinary care, lived well
into old age and were seen by Graceland tour visitors.
Sun, a golden palomino quarter horse and Elvis's personal
favorite, which he acquired in 1967;
a Tennessee Walking Horse Elvis acquired in the 1960s;
Ingram, a mixed breed grade mare Elvis acquired in the 1960s
and humorously named in dubious honor of the Mayor Bill Ingram
Lisa Marie Presley's pony; and
Double, a Tennessee Walking Horse Elvis acquired in 1975.
Rising Sun died in 1986, EPE did a national search and acquired
a distant relative of Sun's and named him Sun's Reflection.
He, along with Ebony's Secret Threat, a Tennessee Walking
Horse acquired by Priscilla Presley in 1983, continue to live
long ago, Ebony's Double was featured in an article in Mid-South
Horse Review. Click
