'Atlanta Weekend '76' New Import: The publicity notes.. AudiRec label is back! In November 2018 we released a boxset of 3 Asheville shows from July 22 – 24, 1975. “The Asheville Marathon ’75" was a huge success and sold out. Now we are releasing a similar thematic set dedicated to Elvis great shows in Atlanta 1976. All three Atlanta June ’76 shows were released a very long time ago, but never in such a great sound quality. We have located the original sources recorded by the same person and restored the sound from scratch. All shows were AUDIENCE recordings with two microphones and there is a certain stereo effect making the sound rich and full. The sound of all concerts was re-tuned by professional musician to the correct speed! Hopefully you will enjoy the outcome.
We originally planned to release Atlanta, Dec. 30 1976 show too, but this one will be released very soon by FTD label from soundboard source.
Presented in a deluxe triple digipack with a collection of great images taken in Atlanta, GA, June 4 - 6, 1976.
It is an ultimate release of Elvis' magical June ’76 Atlanta shows!
EIN Notes: Do fans really need three AUDIENCE recordings from mid-1976!
FTD released 'Tucson '76' and 'Elvis In West Texas' from soundboard of the same tour and they were pretty depressing.
Newspaper reviews of the June 1976 tour noted, "Once Elvis cared about the songs that he sang, the immense talent that he possessed. Now he tosses off a song like a Dean Martin. Presley once could sing Hound Dog and make your whole body sing but now he throws it over his shoulder into the garbage heap with all the rest. What he has done is to strip the very soul from all these songs. Gone was the anger from Jailhouse Rock. Gone was the sensuality from Don't Be Cruel. Gone was the tenderness from Can't Help Falling in Love. Gone was the urgency from Love Me.
All the rough edge that surrounded Presley's songs immaculately was missing. He sounded like a coiffed cabaret singer in a peach leisure suit singing an Elvis Presley medley."

'A Vegas Treat' New Import CD: The Elvis Concert Fan label presents 'A Vegas Treat'. On this album you'll find many tracks recorded live in Las Vegas from 1970 to 1975, including rare soundboard recordings and a stage rehearsal... An alternate February 1972 live version from 'Never Been To Spain' not used by RCA, 4 alternate live versions from February 1970 also not used by RCA, 6 live versions from March 19, 1975, a stage rehearsal from 1972, and a part of the February 10, 1973 dinner show...  As a special bonus two authentic radio spots from 1969 and 1971 are included + 2 rare backstage recordings. This album is truly A VEGAS TREAT. Enjoy!
Only a part of the February 10, 1973 dinner show was recorded, using a bass-heavy mix, possibly as a guide for future Fender bass players if Jerry Scheff left the Elvis Presley show. He did exactly that two weeks later. These recordings were first released on "Aloha Jerry" and "Echoes Of Aloha" from Audionics but now presented for the first time in the right order.
EIN Notes; Most tracks look familiar from other bootlegs (ie the 19/2/70 tracks from "Rebooked at the International", the March 75 tracks from Madison "A Legendary Performer" etc)

"His First Christmas Album In Stereo": The "Good Music" label have announced.. For the first time anywhere, hear Elvis’s first Christmas album in STEREO! Using new, state of the art audio technology, the original monaural tracks contained on Presley’s 1957 holiday album have been skillfully transformed into brilliant, lifelike stereo, using the DES (Digitally Extracted Stereo) method. The sound is stunning! You can hear Elvis better and there is richer detail in the music! With total sales of over 20 million copies worldwide, Elvis’s holiday offering remains the best-selling Christmas album of all time.
This new CD brings this wonderful classic to life as never before! There are also 8 bonus tracks converted from mono to stereo, for a total of 20 songs that never sounded better! Fascinating liner notes reveal the story behind the big hit “Blue Christmas”, plus the controversy caused when composer Irving Berlin tried to block radio stations from playing Elvis’s version of “White Christmas.” Also read about songs that were commissioned by Elvis for this release, and learn about the tunes that Presley arranged himself. Includes rare color photos.
This wonderful, historic treasure is a FIRST for Elvis fans. This follows in the tradition of 2020’s widely acclaimed CDs “Elvis Reborn: New Mono To Stereo Mixes” and the sequel, “Elvis Reborn Vol. 2” both of which contain 30 songs, classic numbers previously available only in monaural but now in glorious stereo. 'Smooth Chicago Nights' New 1976 Import: The 'MxF' label announces for the first time in vinyl, with both of the shows of Chicago 14th & 15th of October 1976 and the ambiance recording of the complete second Chicago show included as a bonus. VINYL Double Set & CD
After shedding some extra weight the man as suggested by the title presents himself in the best way possible considering the past year.. surprising even the journalist to be able to fit again in his 1975 jumpsuit. The Chicago nights are the first stop of the October tour and for the first time in the year, Elvis presents himself at the top of the game. He delivered two solid shows working hard on the stage that He threw up for exhaustion after it.
At the same time, we are glad to include as a bonus CD an unreleased AUDIENCE Recording of the complete concert of the second day in Chicago. The sound is decent: if you want to live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in 2020 this is the right tape. We can guarantee that Elvis was greeted with incredible enthusiasm; the popularity in the live scene at the end of 1976 is still at its maximum level.
For The first show Elvis wearing the Inca Gold Leaf suit looking a lot slimmer. He gave a strong concert but problems with the sound in the stadium was a big let down and Elvis could hardly hear anything during the first half of the show. The second show of the tour was in the same stadium and was strong as the day before from Elvis with some variation in the songs list.
The shows are very enjoyable with Elvis's performance very easily delivering soft and sensitive ballad like “And I love You So” and You Gave Me A Mountain or great rock blues songs like “Steamrollers Blues” and Polk Salad Annie at the end of the second show also a real surprise with the attempt to the classic Blue Christmas.
About The Bonus cd, the sound is good for an ambient recording, a dynamic tape with a good definition of the background music and for sure you can live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in the seventies. We hope you can enjoy the final result.

'Toledo Saturday Night' and 'Elvis At 42' 1977 newly Re-Mixed Import CDs: The publicity notes... A Matrix recording mix is a cunning mix of soundboard / multitrack recordings with audience recordings. Sometimes soundboard recordings can sound dull. The main reason for this is that the sound engineer probably wanted to catch one particular aspect of the performance. This can be the singing voice of the artist, or one of the instruments. These soundboard recordings can miss a of of the ambiance that the spectators were experiencing. An audience recording mostly never sounds dull but the quality of the singing voice of the artist is obviously of lesser sound quality. But mixing these two creates a whole new magic. Now you can enjoy the shows as if you were there!
EIN thinks that Elvis fans should see their therapists if they want to buy soundboard / audience remixes of Elvis in 1977 that they already own. It wasn't a good year!

Available now are the April 23, 1977 & April 24, 1977 show in a matrix mix.
- ''Toledo: Saturday Night', April 23, 1977, University Of Toledo Centennial Hall, Toledo, Ohio
an unreleased matrix recording.
- 'Elvis At 42: Still Dazzles Fans', April 24, 1977, Crisler Arena, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

EIN Notes: That Toledo, April 23, 1977 was partly available on the Fort Baxter 'Goodbye Memphis' - and that the first 7 tracks are still only the audience recording.
That Ann Arbor, April 24, 1977 was previously available on the fine sounding Fort Baxter 'Shakin Up The Great Lakes'

Unreleased 'Guitar Man' Jerry Reed / Elvis Duet: In January 1980 Felton Jarvis decided to "update" some of Elvis' previous recordings to make them sound "more contemporary". Looking back though, 1980 was NOT a good period in progressive rock unless you were part of the "New Wave" such as Talking Heads, The Police or Elvis Costello etc.
Felton Jarvis' overdubs were definitely not "new wave"! He did however manage a 28 Billboard hit with the re-working of "Guitar Man".
Composer Jerry Reed was at the re-recordings to add a new guitar part. The duet version was then recorded as an overdub but never officially released.
The non-duet version of the same recording was released on FTD's 'Too Much Monkey Business' release as well as the original 1980 LP (or course)
Felton Jarvis must have liked the concept as he also brought in Carl Perkins to add a duet to Blue Suede
Shoes and  Tony Joe White to add his vocal to For Ol Times Sake' again these were not officially released.
However they have made them out on bootlegs over the years. (see Import news below!)
- GO HERE to YouTube and enjoy this unreleased duet for free.
(News, Source;ElvisInfoNet) - THANKS to Bob Dalziel for the word-up.

'Work In Progress: The Companion Album' Import: Do Elvis fans really need more unreleased 1980 "Guitar Man" overdub sessions? Well here is a 2LP - CD - 45RPM set if you do!
The publicity states... In 1980 Felton Jarvis, Elvis' record producer for the last decade came to the remarkable idea to freshen up some of Elvis' recordings. The idea was to add totally new backing tracks to Elvis' voice. This resulted in the 1981 record release of "Guitar Man".
You hate it or you love it is probably the right thing to say about the album.
Felton was convinced Elvis would have loved it. The original album contained 10 songs. But Felton worked on a bunch of other songs to see if they would suit the project.
This special LP / CD & 45 RPM  set contains many of those unreleased versions that never made it to the record. Also included are some unreleased unfinished versions of tracks that did make it to the final GUITAR MAN album.

The title track "Guitar Man" written and first performed by Jerry Reed was obviously one of the tracks that had to end up on the album. Jerry Reed was part of the original recording by Elvis in 1967 and now Jerry Reed was back in the studio with Felton Jarvis to work on the new title track for the 1981 re-release. Besides the guitar work he also recorded a "duet" version of the song. This version never made it to the album, but it probably should have. Felton finished this track most likely for his own pleasure or for Jerry Reed and it is one of the many highlights of this set. This is just an example of one of the many surprises you will find, and all in a wonderful sound quality.
This wonderful 2LP set is packed with unreleased tracks like: Blue eyes crying in the rain, The fool, Susan when she tried, Help me, Funny how time slips away and many many more.
Felton Jarvis sadly passed away early January 1981 even before the album came out.
This amazing 2lp set is accompanied by a cd with the best tracks from the sessions and a wonderful 45rpm containing Hey Jude & Susan When She Tried.
Available in a very limited edition in purple or white vinyl.
FTD released the "best Of' the Guitar Man sessions on 'Too Much Monkey Business'
The best unreleased track is the Jerry Reed Duet - but you can already get that via YouTube.

'Bruce Jackson, On The Road With Elvis' New FTD Release: FTD are publishing “Bruce Jackson: On the Road with Elvis” available with a 3CD set! An audio documentary hosted by Jack Mullins (singer/songwriter) plus a soundboard recording of the Sioux Falls 10-18-76, and Atlanta 12-30-76 shows.
Raised in Sydney, audio engineer Bruce Jackson dropped out of university course in 1968 to build stroboscopes, amplifiers and more for the emerging psychedelic concert culture. Little did he know that in just three years he'd be on the road managing Elvis Presley's sound and poised to change forever how live concert sound was presented. In six years with the Elvis Presley Show Bruce established a close professional and personal bond with Elvis who trusted him implicitly to deliver the best sound possible.
Bruce's inventions and technical advances were adopted by the entire live concert touring industry.
'I mixed and ran the sound for Elvis for six years until his death on August 16, 1977. I was 22 when I started working for him. It didn’t seem like a big deal
at the time, working strange hours and constantly on the road to the next city or town. I did hundreds and hundreds of shows with Elvis across mainland United States and Hawai'. - Bruce Jackson
The book delivers an intimate, engaging narrative of Bruce's extraordinary life, up close with the world's top performer.
After Elvis died, Elvis-fan Bruce Springsteen hired Bruce Jackson, saying 'I've got Elvis' guy...Elvis' man is working for me in the house'.
Years of work have gone into making this book a fitting tribute. Bruce's first-person narrative and contributions by friends and colleagues plus the eye-witness perspective of his brother Gary come together for an extraordinary insight. This is, incredibly, a new look at Elvis by someone who
worked with him in a professional relationship that evolved into a personal friendship. Elvis came to respect Bruce Jackson as much as Bruce respected Elvis Presley.
Go here to vimeo to check out the promo video! - Out late September.

'Elvis Rocks The Hilton' From The Booth Tapes Vol.10' New Import CD: Between 2007 and 2016 Straight Arrow has released 20 sound booth recorded concerts. The August 20th , 1973 Midnight show sound booth recording was first released by the legendary "Fort Baxter" label on "A Profile - The King On Stage Vol. 1" box set in 1995, since then it has been re-released several times but never from the original source and totally complete - until now! The pitch was incorrect on all previous individual releases of this show.
The August 31st, Dinner & September 2nd 1973, Midnight shows were released (by our own sub-label called "Vegas Strip") in 2008 on "Getting Down The Business" & "High Spirit In Vegas" CDs. The sound of these CDs was speed-corrected by one of our colleagues back then, but unfortunately, the pitch was still not right. For our final release all 3 shows came directly from the RCA tape duplications chromdioxide compact cassettes. You can see the reproductions of individual cassettes on the CD artwork. Please note that the August 31st , Dinner show was mislabeled on the cassette as the August 30th Dinner show.
All 3 AUDIENCE RECORDED shows, Monday, August 20th Midnight, Friday, August 31st Dinner and Sunday, September
2nd Midnight 1973 shows were meticulously pitch-corrected by a professional musician. We were able to edit the missing parts of August 31st Dinner and September 2nd Midnight shows, using another source recorded by our dear friend from the UK.
These tapes were never in circulation and they are of an excellent quality. We have repaired the incomplete "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "How Great Thou Art" from the August 31st, 1973 Dinner show to make it complete.
As usual, this release is presented in a deluxe triple digipack with a collection of images taken on and off the stage during Elvis' 1973 Las Vegas Summer season.
If you have enjoyed our previous "From the booth tapes" releases, we believe that you will love this one as well. Ask your local audio vendor for trials!

'From Elvis In Nashville' New 4CD Set: RCA / Legacy Recordings is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of 'From Elvis In Nashville' a 4CD collection presenting the long-awaited definitive chronicle of Elvis Presley's mythic 1970 marathon sessions with the "Nashville Cats".
Recorded live in RCA's Studio B in Nashville over the course of an epic five day/night run in June 1970 (with an additional session on September 22), Elvis' performances from those sessions formed the core of three of his most successful studio album releases from the 1970s: 'Elvis: That's the Way It Is', 'Elvis Country' and 'Love Letters from Elvis'.
Now, for the first time, the master recordings from the 1970 Studio B sessions may be enjoyed together as a single official Elvis album. On From Elvis In Nashville, Presley's studio tracks from the 1970 marathon sessions are presented in pristine audio, newly mixed by acclaimed engineer Matt Ross-Spring without the added overdubs appearing on earlier releases.
From Elvis In Nashville will be available in a 4CD boxed edition including two bonus discs of rare and/or unreleased outtakes.

A highlights package will be available in a 2LP 12" vinyl pressing.
At the close of the 1960s, Elvis Presley, the atomic-powered singer of the 1950s, put his stamp on the rock revolution decade, reestablishing himself as a musical and cultural force to be reckoned with. His electrifying Elvis '68 Comeback special made television history and his long-awaited return to non-soundtrack recordings at Chip Moman's American Sound Studio in Memphis, January-February 1969 – yielded major chart hits including 'In The Ghetto', 'Don't Cry Daddy', 'Kentucky Rain' and 'Suspicious Minds' and well as a pair of acclaimed 1969 album releases, From Elvis In Memphis and 'Back In Memphis'.

From Elvis In Nashville serves as a mirror and companion to his earlier Memphis recordings, bringing fresh fire, exuberance, humor and emotional resonance to the Studio B sessions.
For his first recordings of the 1970s, Elvis revisited the blueprint that made his American Sound sessions so successful. Because he hated doing overdubs, he wanted to cut loose live in the studio with a band in sync with his sensibility. Freed from obligations to music publishers, Elvis was able to pick and record songs that were contemporary, relevant and meaningful to him, from covers – including his transcendent interpretation of 'Bridge Over Trouble Water' – to the epic material then powering his Las Vegas residencies and return to live performing.
If the American Sound recordings in Memphis opened the door for Elvis' return to the stage and top of the charts, his next recordings – the fabled 1970 Nashville Marathon Sessions – would lay the groundwork for another revolution in pop music. Under the direction of producer Felton Jarvis, Elvis joined forces with one of the most potent studio ensembles ever assembled to create an often underrated chapter in Presley's rich legacy. Working with the fabled "Nashville Cats" for his first album of 1970, Elvis Presley connected to a circle of contemporary musicians that included Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, George Harrison and others.
In June 1970, Elvis returned to RCA Studio B to create a new sound for a new decade. From 1958-1971, Elvis recorded more than 200 tracks at Studio B, beginning with five classic songs, including 'A Fool Such As I' before shipping off to Germany with the US Army. He recorded Elvis Is Back!, his first post-army album, at Studio B in March-April 1960 and many more throughout the sixties
For his 1970 Nashville sessions, Elvis was able to handpick his own repertoire and, delve into the rich variety of American music in his marrow, combining elements of bluegrass, honky tonk, Western swing and the rockabilly he'd virtually invented with contemporary pop, ballads and epic showstoppers. Bringing a fresh and vital new approach to pop and country music, Elvis' performances on From Elvis In Nashville presaged and encompassed emerging trends from countrypolitan and Americana to outlaw country.
These sessions are widely recognized as among Elvis' best because of the undeniable chemistry between Elvis and his astonishing studio band comprised of multi-instrumentalist Charlie McCoy (whose resume includes Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde On Blonde, plus work with Paul Simon, Tanya Tucker, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson), bassist Norbert Putnam (Roy Orbison, Linda Ronstadt, J. J. Cale, Tony Joe White, etc) and pianist David Briggs (Dean Martin, Joan Baez, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tony Joe White, George Harrison, among others).
Known colloquially as the "Nashville Cats" this finely-honed studio ensemble, like Elvis himself, connected the worlds of pop, rock and country music. For the June sessions, Elvis brought in his longtime on-stage guitarist James Burton; Eddie Hinton (lead guitar on Elvis' September session). Elvis plays acoustic guitar throughout the June sessions.
The five-day "marathon" sessions yielded a wide variety of material including a spirited rendition of Willie Nelson's 'Funny How Time Slips Away', the heartrending 'I've Lost You' and the powerful 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. A wild, single-take version of 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On' was one of the highlights of the September 22 single day session.
The music Elvis created in his 1970 "marathon sessions", presented here without layers of overdubbing heard on the original releases, stands among Presley's best and has proven immensely influential. It established musical directions he pursued the rest of his career, predicted his late-in-life pop- and-country radio successes, and modeled sounds for countless country stars to come.
From Elvis In Nashville provides an intimate glimpse into the world of Elvis and the way he made music that lasts forever.
No tracklisting has yet been announced. The release date appears to be November, 2020.

'A Whole Lotta' Power Going On' New Import CD: A CMT deluxe release with over 2 1/2 hours of incredible cuts!
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Elvis June/September recordings in Nashville, where other labels only re-re (re) release the same over and over CMT continues their "Power" series with this third instalment, after last year's "Ghetto Power" and the first release "Stax Power" this release had to be done and might be the best one yet!
Again the editing on this album makes all songs "blend in" so you will get the feeling as if you are in the actual session, with lots of rare snippets and surprises.
All tracks from the "Nashville Sessions" have been included in this 2 cd set, with clever spliced takes for a whole new experience.
Lots of works went into this and a lot of the tracks sound so different, you almost think it is all brand new!
Because the producers wanted something really new, and wanted to start rocking from scratch! They decided not to give you a chronicle order tracklist like the previous volumes.
Just listen to the incredible new spliced version of "Patch It Up" (10!! Splices) extended versions of "There Goes My Everything" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and clever edits of Undubbed tracks with final masters like "Little Cabin on the Hill" and "Heart of Rome"

'And I Love You So' STAR 1976 DVD: STAR has managed to get their hands on some incredible previously unreleased Elvis footage in great quality!! Other video releases containing amateur footage, usually are out of synch, to slow/fast and very VERY bad edits.
After "the good old days" when we had lots of TTWII and On Tour outtakes but nothing new for a long time... This will change now!
STAR delivers an almost complete show from 1976 with a running time of 56 minutes, including 17 COMPLETE performances.
No skips and bumps so you can enjoy the man as you should!
Most of the footage with MATCHING audio has been taken from March 17, 1976 during his performance in Johnson City, backed up with "help" from other shows from the same tour.
This "Opening Night" show for 1976 shows Elvis in a very good mood and shape, lots of interaction is going on with the audience, and you are with them during this great show!
Due to the fact that not everything has been filmed, clever edits are used to keep the show going without annoying breaks and even some extra songs were used to make it work even better.
A great result of this has to be the March 22 version (St. Louis)  of "Let Me Be There" which has some amazing close ups!
But there's more!
We get the very first live version of "Hurt' a rocking "Polk Salad Annie" and "Burning Love" and a rare live version of the title track "And I Love You So" where Elvis stops for a while since he doesn't approve the bands performance. You constantly feel the energy from Elvis working with his new band and the Crowd.
Next to the complete songs we also get all the band solos, hear Larry Londin for the first time during an Elvis show, see James Burton making an encore by Elvis' request, enjoy the Joe Guercio Orchestra doing a fine "Hail Hail Rock and Roll" . Yes it is all there and you can enjoy it soon!
As a bonus some rare tracks from the CBS tapes are included.
Limited to 500 copies

'Elvis 42 Years Before & After' New Import: First featured by EIN back in December 2019, finally this new interestingly-themed bootleg is out.
... Elvis achieved many musical highs, however his career didn’t end at age 42 in 1977.
The first disc of this double Cd set brings you all the most important recordings and hits from his lifetime. From Elvis’ 1954 debut at the Sun label through to the 'Elvis In Concert' 1977 CBS TV special.
The second disc contains the stuff that has kept his name and legacy alive some 42 years after that fatal day in August 1977. From Felton Jarvis' 1980 Re-Recording session through to 2018 Where No One Stands Alone duet with Lisa-Marie Presley.
It is a journey through new songs, remakes and remixes, a live recording from Elvis The Concert World Tour and finally duets with well-known artists and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley.

EIN loves the "Sgt Pepper" cover image!

August is the suggested month of release. No price yet announced.

Living overseas the weight will certainly make this an expensive purchase when you have to include postage.

'From Elvis In Nashville' New 4CD Set: EIN was hoping that the official announcement would have been out by now - but this is what we have so far.
"From Elvis In Nashville" is the new SONY major release, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Elvis' "Nashville Marathon" sessions that took place in June 1970.
At these session Elvis would record classic material including I’ve Lost You, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Patch It Up, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Stranger In The Crowd, Mary In The Morning, and Just Pretend. In September Elvis would return to Nashville to record more hits Rags To Riches and Where Did They Go Lord.
The sessions would go on to create two of Elvis' best ever albums 'Elvis Country' and 'That's The Way It Is'.
From Elvis In Nashville promises "Undubbed versions of all tracks" - perhaps all the Undubbed Masters, plenty of which have still never been officially released.
At the time all the Nashville tracks were heavily overdubbed and nowadays the raw studio versions often sound more contemporary. Hopefully, like 'Down In the Jungle Room', this 2020 release 'From Elvis In Nashville' will provide a fascinating and honest look at Elvis' creative side.
This set was originally slated for an August release (to fit in with the 2020 Elvis Week celebrations) but rumours are
that it may be delayed until later in 2020, possibly November.
More info when we get it. - Released back in 2002, FTD's The Nashville Marathon was one of their best

'Flying In Twice' New Import CD: From the EPC label, the publicity states...  'Flying In Twice' features two fantastic AUDIENCE recorded shows July 10th & 18th 1975 from Cleveland, OH. The 3rd tour of 1975 was always rated as one of Elvis' best. All the concerts were excellent and the two Cleveland shows were no exception.
Both the July 10th & 18th 1975 shows are previously unreleased on silver discs. July 10th show is of somewhat lesser sound quality but we have tried to improve the audio as much as possible. July 18th show was never before available in its complete form and in fine sound - until now!
Carefully restored and mastered with a focus on preserving the integrity of the original recording. Hence some minor hiss may be present; we felt it was more important to preserve the high frequencies and natural ambience of the original recordings.
The sound is very good for audience recordings - ask your CD dealer for a small audio sample!
This 2CD is packaged in a nicely designed double digipack with two local press reviews. All images used for the artwork were taken in Cleveland, OH, July 10th & 18th, 1975.
EIN Notes: these shows have been out previously on poor quality audience recorded CDRs. I hope the audio quality is better on this version.

'Golden Records The Alternate Album Collection' New Import: A five CD set of Alternate "Elvis Golden Records"
The publicity notes.. The Elvis’ Golden Records albums spanning a period of 26 years are true classic albums.
The first two volumes focussing on his early career, volume 3 & 4 mainly on the 1960’s.
The posthumous released volume 5 is focussing on his career from the end 60’s to the late 70’s.
Most Elvis fans have started their collection with buying these classic albums.
Being a compilation of success 45RPM releases (both A & B sides) this series contained the regular master versions, just as the fans knew the songs so well.
This neat 5 CD boxset including a 20 page booklet contains only rare alternate & hard to find versions.
The same lineup but a very different listening experience. Get it while you can!
NOTE that for collectors who have to own everything, "Also a limited 45RPM EP set is available. This set contains 5 beautiful EPs and a bonus cd."
EIN Notes: The bootleggers are again scraping the barrel. Nothing new and something that collectors could compile themselves - but why on earth use  those terrible old "Electronic Stereo Versions"?

UPDATED- 'Elvis: St Louis & Spokane 1976' FTD In-Depth Review: 1976 is not an easy Elvis concert year to review. There were no major set-list changes, no dramatic "emotional roller-coaster" of 1974 and no high-flying "Huntsville" 1975 excitements.
Released as a 2-CD 5” digi-pak, this new FTD set features Elvis at the Kiel Auditorium on March 22 1976 and The Coliseum on April 27 1976.
Both shows were "Closing Nights" of these short 1976 tours where Elvis would often go that little bit further for his loving fans.
Larrie Londin played drums with the TCB band on the March 1976 tour so it will be a treat for collectors to get an official release featuring 'A Different Beat' with Larrie Londin playing at St Louis on March 22, 1976.

Can there really be that much to say about these two concerts, well EIN's coolest reviewers have rustled up over 4000 words.. and check if there any surprises in store..
Go here as Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell & Piers Beagley check out this new set ....

‘Elvis Reborn: New Mono to Stereo’ CD In-Depth Review: The publicity notes, "Hear 30 classic Elvis songs like you've never heard them before... in STEREO!
These are NOT "overdubs". All of the sounds you hear are the original musicians backing Elvis, but with a clarity that exposes for the first time sounds you never heard before!"

The MONO vs STEREO debate is a fascinating discussion, so we need to get some facts straight before we investigated the possibilities of this new Elvis "Stereo" release.
The earliest recordings of the sound era were recorded in MONO with the singer and orchestra carefully positioned around one microphone. But even in Sun Studios it was actually Sam Phillips who created Elvis' classic mono recordings.
Elvis and the Blue Moon Boys were not playing "mono" - nor were they recorded via one microphone.
So listening in "Fake Stereo" can fans really learn anything new about how some of these life-changing songs that Elvis recorded in the studio were created?
Is it truly possible that these "DES Stereo" versions actually sound better than their original classic mono vinyl releases?
EIN's Piers Beagley is open to new ideas that might reveal
something new and interesting about Elvis' classic recording sessions and so takes a detailed look into this new compilation and the "MONO vs STEREO" debate.

‘Elvis Reborn 2: More Mono to Stereo’ Promo Video: Just as EIN reviews the first DES "Mono to Stereo" release, producer Larry Jordan announces the follow-up release of 'Elvis Reborn Vol. 2 - More Mono To Stereo Mixes'. Once again this CD contains 30 stereo mixes of mono recordings created using the Digitally Extracted Stereo (DES) technique. It is OUT NOW.
In the review of "‘Elvis Reborn One" EIN questioned the failure to use the brilliant-in-stereo Heartbreak Hotel as the first track. Well, guess what track one is on the new release!

Tracklist: Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, Teddy Bear, I Don't Care If The Sun Don't Shine, I Got A Woman, I'm Not The Marrying Kind, Baby Let's Play House, Treat Me Nice, Lover Doll, Ready Teddy, Don't Leave Me Now, Tryin' To Get To You, Shake Rattle And Roll, I'll Never Let You Go, Paralyzed, I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone, Party, I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Cry (Over You), Blueberry Hill, As Long As I Have You, I Want To Be Free, I Got Stung, All Shook Up, That's When Your Heartaches Begin, My Baby Left Me Too Much, I'm Counting On You, Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, Hard Headed Woman

'Spinout on the Speedway' New Import CD: The CMT label suggest that this series needs no further introduction.
This time the producers decided to combine two movies for one release, since the original movie soundtracks were so short in running time.
Not only are most tracks "spliced" but a lot are also extended with different parts so most tracks sound very different.
If you own the previous releases like "Kissin Cousins, Viva Las Vegas and Fun in Acapulco" you will know what to expect
As always you will get a lot of value in this release since almost all sounds very different than usual without using fake remixes or overdubs
A card-sleeve edition
So sit back and relax, and leave the driving to Elvis!

'Houston, I'm Back Again' Deluxe VINYL Set: For the first time on vinyl both shows of Houston 4th & 5th of June 1975 and the AUDIENCE recording of the complete second Houston show included as a bonus.
As always the 'VV' label presents Elvis at the peak of his possibility and without a doubt, this double set presents Elvis still at his best. After shedding some extra weight the man is ready to face his second tour of 1975. The June 1975 tour due to the RCA idea to record a live album gives us some incredible soundboard tapes, unfortunately, all more or less incomplete. But at the same time, it has given us the possibilities after a light editing and a remastering process to use a single vinyl for each Houston concert.
At the same time we are glad to include as bonus CD an unreleased Ambiance Recording of the complete concert of the second day in Houston. The sound is decent: if you want to live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in 2020 this is the right tape.
We can guarantee that Elvis was greeted with incredible enthusiasm; the popularity in the live scene in the middle of 1975 is at its maximum level.
The tour presents Elvis still at the top of his rocker possibility, in spite of his weight. He looks great in his impressive new jumpsuits and he delivers great shows with a great version of the up-tempo rockers Burning Love and his last single T.R.O.U.B.L.E. The enthusiasm is so great sometimes on the ambiance tape the screaming is louder than the music and in one occasion he accepts even a song request like "Trying To Get To you", a rarity for the tour. The sound is good for an ambient recording, a dynamic tape with a great definition of the background music and for sure you can live the atmosphere of an Elvis concert in the seventies. We hope you can enjoy the final result.
Previously released on multiple bootlegs including
June 4 - The Eagle Has Landed / Goin' Back To Houston
June 5 - Howdy Houston / Goin' Back To Houston

'Elvis: Live in California' May 1974 FTD Review: The most recent live soundboard 5” double-digipack FTD release which this time focused on Elvis' short Tour of California which went from May 10 to May 13 1974. CD1 features a combination of May 10 San Bernardino Opening Show / Fresno May 12 show while the second CD features May 13 San Bernardino Closing Show.
Best of all, these shows are previously unreleased soundboards.
In 1974 Elvis added the new songs 'Help Me', 'Let Me Be There' and ‘Why Me Lord’ to his set-list plus the old SUN classic ‘Trying To Get To You’ while on this tour Elvis added 'Big Boss Man' which he would then keep performing through to 1977. With 'Polk Salad', 'Steamroller Blues', 'Suspicious Minds', 'I Can't Stop Loving You' and 'An American Trilogy' also in the mix, the set-list was a truly solid selection.
With a mix of fifties oldies, classics hits, new material and some nice surprises fans would have truly enjoyed these shows.
Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell & EIN's Piers Beagley have a close look at this new FTD release .....

'Down By The Falls' New Import CD: A new release from the Touchdown label, 'Down By The Falls' contains the previously released afternoon show from July 13, 1975.
This new upgraded AUDIENCE recording of the Niagara Falls concert, that was first released over twenty-five years ago, offers a much improved sound quality and more than half-a-dozen bonus tracks that represent other highlights of Elvis’ acclaimed late summer tour in 1975.

EIN Note: This July 1975  tour has so far not been covered by FTD although plenty of the concerts have been bootlegged such as 'Gyrating Asheville' and 'Pieces of my Life'.
In fact this CD features 'Pieces of my Life' from the final Asheville show.

'Still Classy In Omaha' New Import CD: The Verve label also suggest they shows how good soundboards can sound, if done properly.
When FTD released the April 22, 1976 Omaha concert in 2008 almost everyone was disappointed about the mix, which had the background singers way, way up in front. It sounded terrible and it still is one of the worst releases by the collector’s label. (Umm, EIN would agree with that!)
It was always said that you can’t do anything about the sound picture, as the soundboard is what it is, but that’s wrong.
It is possible to correct the sound picture, which we did and now you can listen to a concert and find out why the press stated about Presley’s concert on the next day: "Still classy as a caddy!“
The background singers are mixed properly in the background and Elvis’ talent and charisma shines over it all. And a fine concert it was!
EIN Note: The final concert of this 1976 tour, Spokane, April 27 is about to be released on the next FTD 'ELVIS: St. Louis & Spokane'. Hopefully the Closing Night will be better than Omaha.

‘With Renewed Vigour’ New Import CD: The Straight Arrow label announces their first release of 2020, ‘With Renewed Vigour’ - Charlotte, March 20th, 1976 Afternoon Show. It was the1st tour of 1976 and some of Elvis' key musicians were replaced for financial issues. Unexpectedly, the result was a surprisingly fresh sound, with keyboards and drums prominent. During this rather short tour, Elvis performed 8 solid and entertaining shows in 4 cities.
The Charlotte, March 20th, 1976, 2:30pm show was previously released from an incomplete and inferior source back in 1994. We have found a completely new source; the original tape was recorded by a well-known American fan, using back then an excellent quality Sony TC-55 cassette recorder. For the first time we present this great concert in complete form and in its best possible sound quality! As usual, this release is presented in a de-lux 6-panel digipak with a collection of photos taken in Charlotte, March 20th, 1976 2:30pm and with great liner notes written by the fan who taped the show!
If you have enjoyed our previous March'76 release "RIPPIN' IT IN CINCINNATI" (Straight Arrow Special Products SA/SP 2018-51-02), we bet you will love this one too. The sound is even better, fresher and ambient.
Holding Back The Years (A New Kind Of Rhythm) from March 21, 1976 Cincinnati is probably the most well-known show from this 1976 Tour. FTD have not yet released a concert from this tour.
Ask your local dealer for audio samples! Straight Arrow team is always looking for new, unreleased audience taped shows and for better versions of already released recordings. If you have such tapes, even damaged/broken ones, do not hesitate to contact us, through your local dealer.

'Time Is Slipping Away' New Import: EP collector have announced their new release 'Time Is Slipping Away' , AUDIENCE recorded live at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, March 25, 1977.
The title is inspired by the fact that Elvis he sings "Funny How Time Slips Away" very unusually as the 3rd song. The 2nd tour of 1977 was cut short due to Elvis illness, but some of the concerts were surprisingly good, especially the Abilene show on March 27th. In Norman, Elvis performs two solid and entertaining shows. Among the concert highlights are ”You Gave Me A Mountain“, ”Little Sister”, ”My Way”, “Fever“ and ”Hurt”.
As the local press wrote, Elvis "The King" Presley delights audience in Lloyd Noble Arena. Note: After the February 1977 tour, David Briggs was replaced by Bobby Ogdin on electric piano and clavinet.
The audio was mastered from an original audience recorded cassette tape recorded by a British fan. The sound is a rich and ambient - ask for samples!
This CD is packaged in a nicely designed digipack with local press review. All images used for the artwork were taken on March 25th, 1977 and they are previously unpublished!

‘Work In Progress’ The Guitar Man Album Sessions Vol. 1 New Import: In 1980 Felton Jarvis, Elvis' record producer for the last decade came to the remarkable idea to freshen up some of Elvis' recordings. The idea was to add totally new backing tracks to Elvis' voice. This resulted in the 1981 record release of "Guitar Man".
You hate it or you love it is probably the right thing to say about the album.
Felton was convinced Elvis would have loved it. The original album contained 10 songs (which all can be heard in a wonderful newly remastered sound quality on this new 2 CD set). But Felton worked on a bunch of other songs to see if they would suit the project.
This special 2 CD set contains many of those unreleased versions that never made it to the record.
This is just an example of one of the many surprises you will find on this CD set. And all in a wonderful sound quality.
This wonderful 2 CD set is full of unreleased tracks like: Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, The Fool, Susan When She Tried, Help Me, Funny How Time Slips Away and many many more.
Felton Jarvis sadly passed away early January 1981 even before the album came out.

‘Southbound’ 1976 New Import Re-Release: Now available on vinyl, SOUTHBOUND, originally released in 1998 and featuring the August 31 1976 show from Macon Georgia. The 7th tour of 1976 is not known as being the best tour in Elvis' career. During this particular show Elvis appeared demotivated. Most likely the crowd never even noticed this as they go wild like always as Elvis delivered a mediocre performance.
Still, it’s a part of Elvis’ career that deserves a release on vinyl.
22 years after the original CD release it is time for a high quality re-release of this performance. For the very first time this show is now available on a high quality double vinyl set.
The show is newly remastered and updated in the best way possible! This release is very limited and is available in RED or BLUE vinyl presented in a gatefold sleeve. And of course the show is included on CD too.
EIN Note: Elvis' show at Jackson, Mississippi, September 5, 1976 was released by FTD and is probably the best show and recording of this tour - Go here for the FTD review.

MRS 'Elvis:Back In Living Stereo' in-depth Review: The new MRS set contains 6CDs of essential 1960-1962 master recordings, plus rare alternate outtakes - including plenty of officially unreleased material - and all of the personal home recordings Elvis made during the 1960s.
The 100 page book, with text from Gordon Minto, includes rare unpublished documents and photographs, supported by a comprehensive text discussing each of Elvis’ RCA studio (non-film) recording sessions held during 1960-62.
Musically the packed cds - over seven hours - present a stunning look at Elvis recording in the early sixties before the shine wore off. The "Master" sessions nicely contrast with the looser "Outtakes" discs and with Elvis getting even more uninhibited on the Home Recordings. - Very unihibited with a certain Nancy Sharpe!

But with so much thrown into the mix, and some tracks in poor audio quality, have MRS packed "Too Much" into the one release.

Go here as EIN's Nigel Patterson & Piers Beagley check out the positives and negatives in their in-depth review.

"Elvis Reborn" New CD:Out now a stunning rework of Elvis' mono classics into impressive STEREO.
.. Hear 30 classic Elvis songs like you've never heard them before... in STEREO!
Through a new, cutting-edge digital audio process called DES (Digitally Extracted Stereo), it is now possible to create new, authentic-sounding stereo mixes from original mono recordings.
Since instruments and vocals typically occupy fairly narrow frequency ranges, DES is able to isolate guitars, drums, piano, bass, singers, etc. and extract them into separate tracks that can be remixed just like multi-track stereo recordings. This breakthrough technology allows fans to experience their
favorite mono songs in a more lifelike way than ever before!
These are NOT "overdubs". No new instrumentation has been added. All of the sounds you hear are the original musicians backing Elvis, but with a clarity that exposes for the first time sounds you never heard before!
This exciting, trend-setting CD is as close as you will come to actually being present in the studio when these songs were recorded in the glory days of rock 'n' roll.

New FTD February Releases: Two new FTD releases announce for release later next month.
1. 'Elvis In California' Double-soundboard. As part of the ongoing live on tour series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of 'Elvis In California'. Released as a 2-CD 5” digi-pak, this set features Elvis touring during May 1974.
Elvis' 10th tour was short, five concerts in California over four days the most famous being his two 'Forum of Inglewood' concerts on May 11, 1974. (As released on FTD 'Live in LA')
Elvis was in good form.  The San Bernadino local review of Elvis' first concert there included, "Above all Elvis Presley knows what the faithful want and he bowls them over with his style. That's why he was a sellout at the Swing last night, will be on Monday night when he returns, and sells out wherever he performs.
"I'm a cement mixer, baby," he snarls at the screamers, "a churning urn of burning funk." Believe it."
The shows, taken from the original soundboard tapes, feature unreleased concerts from Selland Arena, Fresno (May 12) and Swing Auditorium, San Bernadino (May 10 & 13).
The set-list is familiar early 1974 material including, Steamroller Blues, Help Me, Funny How Time Slips Away and Big Boss Man.

2. 'Love Letters From Elvis' special double-vinyl.  FTD Vinyl’s next release is the upgrade of 'Love Letters From Elvis' featuring plenty of outtakes and masters.
Recorded during the marathon sessions held in Nashville, June 4-8, 1970, the original LP became the last album of utilising songs recorded during that week.
This new 180-gram heavyweight vinyl edition mastered at Abbey Road in London.
Tracklist includes Cindy, Cindy takes 2, 3 (undubbed master), Rags To Riches – take 3, Love Letters – takes 1,3, It Ain’t No Big Thing (But It’s Growing) – takes 1,2 as well as If I Were You – takes 2-5 and Heart Of Rome – takes 2, 3 (undubbed master).

'Lonesome August Nights' New Import: To be released in the early February, Lonesome August Nights (SR Records) will focus on Elvis’ August 1972 Las Vegas season, featuring August 18 1972 dinner & midnight show AUDIENCE RECORDINGS, previously unreleased and taken directly from the original high-quality tapes.
The August 18 Midnight Show was previously released on vinyl format in the SR boxed edition of Not too Sweet, here for the first time will be released on CD format completely remastered.
The SR attitude is to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility and without any doubt Elvis’ second week in Vegas August season presents him at the top of his possibilities, delivering great shows. If Rock is an attitude, then the man has it. The performances are terrific, rough and sharp.
On August 18th on the backstage just before to go on the stage The Colonel informed Elvis that his Lawyer had delivered the application for a divorce on the Los Angeles Superior Court... Elvis's answer was a simple nod with the head and two unbelievable SHOWS.
Elvis at least at the begin seems to enjoy this newfound freedom delivering an unbelievable last great Las Vegas season.
Elvis sings and looks magnificent on the stage is iperactive and He performs all the songs to the maximum of his possibilities, presenting all the best of his repertoire from
the previous two years combined with the last 1972 new autobiografical song ranging in all musical genres as only he can do.
We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality in order to be able to obtain a result that you can enjoy too.
The ambiance tapes are both of very good quality, as you can appreciate both Elvis and the band and at the same time you can feel and live the live atmosphere of the intimate Las Vegas Showroom.
The shows has already said are great, we have some a few variations in the songs, this for sure make more interesting the listen of both the shows, See See Rider is back as opener song and the show now consist in a solid collection of great quality songs all well performed . Two new addictions at the repertoire : What Now My Love and My Way . Due to Elvis’ moment two sentimental&life songs no randomly chosen. However talking about best song we like to say that the rockin’ side is still present in Elvis and Polk Salad Annie never sounded better: both Elvis and the band are pushing strong with a great job of Jerry Cheff bass guitar.
This new SR special Product will be housed in a deluxe 300 grams single sleeve that includes together the 180 grams vinyl, two Bonus CD and bonus high glossy 300 grams 30x30 cm Art Card both sides printed.
All the copies will come with Glossy Sticker hand-numbered and individually sealed and Please remember!! This is a limited set of 400 COPIES.

'Elvis 42 Years Before & After' New Import: A future CD with an interesting theme. EIN believes it will be coming out of Europe.

'First In Line Vol. 2' New Import: Out now 'First In Line Vol.2' from MxF Records focusses on Elvis’ January & February 1974 Vegas season, featuring the midnight show January 30th and the evening show February 8th, 1974, both the shows previously unreleased and from the original AUDIENCE high-quality tape.
Elvis’ tolerance for Vegas has reached its limit in the previous august 1973 season so after the deserved rest of 5 months, Elvis is back in Las Vegas Hilton. According to the new contract, He will perform twice a year, but only two weeks at a time rather than the previous four. The repertoire was reduced compared to the previous season to 15/20 songs with three new additions: Help me, Spanish Eyes and the popular Let Me Be There. The choice of songs in the different shows varied little, but due the 9 days of the distance of the two shows here presented we have some a few variations in the songs, this for sure make more interesting the listen of both the shows.
Both the AUDIENCE tapes are of very good quality, as you can appreciate both Elvis and the band and at the same time you can feel and live the live atmosphere of the intimate Las Vegas Showroom.
In the first show closer to the opening of the season we still have the splendid You’ve Lost The Loving Feeling dropped 9 days later, with the inclusion of Sweet Caroline, the classic Johnny B. Good and the sentimental The First Time Ever I saw your Face.. longer show and slightly better in the audio quality and for this reason included in the LP.
This new MxF special Product will be housed in a deluxe 300 grams single sleeve that includes
together with the 150 grams vinyl, the two Bonus CDs and bonus high glossy 130 grams 60x30 cm Poster both sides printed.

'Inside Elvis' Out Now: Available now is the new hardback book 'Inside Elvis' an "Elvis One / Rock Legends" publication. The 300 page book features Arjan Deelen's interviews with many of Elvis' musicians, including James Burton, Bob Lanning, Scotty Moore, Jim Murray, Jerry Scheff, D.J. Fontana, The Sweet Inspirations, The Holladay Sisters, Glen D. Hardin, Johnny Christopher, Charlie Hodge, Duke Bardwell, Sherril Nielsen and The Imperials. Some of these interviews first appeared in "Elvis - The Man and his Music". These in-depth, candid interviews are presented here in complete, unedited form.

Highlights include the first-ever interview with the elusive Bob Lanning, and a heartwarming conversation last year with Jim Murray, where Jim concluded the interview saying, "These are things that I've never told anybody before". There are many great stories and unique insights that will give you a deeper perspective of the man and his music.

This impressive work contains over 300 photographs from the collections of various high-profile collectors, and most of these are in color and razor-sharp. The artwork of the book was done by graphic artist Michael van Werven, who has worked during most of 2019 on the design of 'Inside Elvis', and has made it a visually stunning work.

Also included as an extra is a 29-track CD containing various rarities, including the acetate of 'Viva Las Vegas', rare live attempts at 'Crying Time', promos for both 'Love Me Tender' and 'Jailhouse Rock', as well as 'Heartbreak Hotel' and 'Hound Dog' from Elvis' show at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas on October 11th, 1956 (note: very poor audio), courtesy of longtime collector Luuk Bonthond, who had the recording since the 60s

.
You can order 'Inside Elvis' directly from Arjan Deelen at: deelen@elvis.dk

Price for the book is EUR50. Postage to Europe is EUR20, rest of the world US$30.

'The ELVIS Movie' New STAR DVD: A new DVD from the STAR label, 'The ELVIS Movie' starring Kurt Russell but with the soundtrack of Elvis Presley!
It's the same story but the performances have made an incredible upgrade!
STAR keeps surprising fans worldwide, this time they have chosen something "risky" but they deliver once more!
They have replaced Ronnie McDowell's soundtrack with the only singer that should have been there in the first place ELVIS!
Lots more music is included and the whole film has a more modern touch then before and can now compete with blockbusters like "Walk the Line" and "Great Balls of Fire"
Rare live versions and outtakes were handpicked to find the best matching songs for the scenes.
Kurt Russell's lip-syncing looks much more natural and real then before, and how cool it is to hear the actual radio broadcast (Dewey Philips) from the time when "That's All Right" was first played on the air, or to hear "The Blackwood Brothers" at the funeral of Elvis his mother Gladys.
After 40 years the movie finally is ELVIS!

'Love My Teddy Bear Tender' New Import CD: Live at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, NV, September 3rd, 1971, the AUDIENCE recorded Dinner show. While some of Elvis import labels are just re-releasing previously issued and repackaged stuff, the always reliable E. P. Collector label is always looking for something new to release. We are always reaching out to people in order to find new material, and if it's interesting, we will purchase it, even if the sound is not studio perfect. In recent months we were in touch with a couple of fans who recorded a number of interesting concerts, which now enables us to release two more surprises.
The first new release is titled 'Love My Teddy Bear Tender' (EPC 2019-22) and it brings us the Las Vegas, September 3rd, 1971 Dinner show. You'll have to forgive us for the somewhat clumsy title, but maybe you'll understand when we tell you that it contains a sensational concert rarity! During this concert, he sings "Love Me Tender" to the tune of "Teddy Bear"!! He only did this once, during this concert, and now for the first time you can hear this amazing discovery!!! Who would think that we would still be getting surprises like this in 2019?!
Concert recordings from '71 are hard to come by these days, especially unreleased ones. During this season, Elvis was on fire, and his setlist was varied and strong. Near the end of the engagement, his shows were a bit looser, and this one is a real delight. This concert recording is a completely new show, even for the hardcore fans. The audio was mastered from an original audience recorded cassette tape. Digipack with a press review and a collection of images taken in Las Vegas, NV, in August /September 1971.
Tracklist: 01. Orchestra Intro - 02. Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001 Theme) - 03. That’s All Right - 04. I Got A Woman - 05. Proud Mary - 06. Sweet Caroline - 07. Polk Salad Annie - 08. Instrumental Intermezzo - 09. Johnny B. Goode - 10. It's Impossible (with false start) - 11. Love Me - 12. Medley: Blue Suede Shoes / Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On - 13. Heartbreak Hotel - 14. Love Me Tender sung to Teddy Bear tune - 15. Medley: Teddy Bear / Don't Be Cruel - 16. Hound Dog - 17. Suspicious Minds - 18. Band Introductions - 19. I'm Leavin' - 20. Lawdy Miss Clawdy - 21. Can't Help Falling In Love (with false start) - 22. Closing Vamp.

'Knoxville Knockout' New Import CD: Live at the UOT Stokely Arena, Knoxville, TN, April 8, 1972 AUDIENCE recorded Evening show. EP's second new CD is titled 'Knoxville Knockout' (EPC 2019-23).
Just as our first release, the Knoxville, TN, April 8, 1972 8:30 pm evening show is previously unreleased and moreover, it is completely a new show for all Elvis die-hard fans: again, never before in circulation, in any form! Interestingly enough, RCA was there to record, but their tape recorder malfunctioned. Now you can finally hear what RCA tried to record!!
This concert is taken from a recently discovered original audience recorded cassette tape. Unfortunately, "An American Trilogy" is incomplete, and it is possible that there's is one song missing, just before the "Can't Help Falling In Love" finale.
As we've come to expect from the April '72 shows, Elvis is in excellent form. And what a rare treat to finally get an audience recorded tape from this highly regarded tour! Elvis is firing on all cylinders. He knocks "How Great Thou Art" out of the ballpark. Wow, just wow!!
Packaged in a nicely designed digipack with excerpts from a local press review and a collection of images taken on tour in April, 1972, including a couple of real, very rare Knoxville show shots.
01. Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001 Theme) - 02. C. C. Rider - 03. Proud Mary - 04. Never Been To Spain - 05. You Gave Me A Mountain - 06. Until It's Time For You To Go - 07. Polk Salad Annie - 08. Love Me - 09. All Shook Up - 10. Medley: Teddy Bear / Don't Be Cruel - 11. Hound Dog - 12. Love Me Tender (with break) - 13. How Great Thou Art - 14. I Can't Stop Loving You (with reprise) - 15. For The Good Times - 16. Suspicious Minds - 17. Band Introductions - 18. An American Trilogy (incomplete) - 19. Can't Help Falling In Love - 20. Closing Vamp.

'You're Driving Me Crazy' MRS Vinyl Promo: MRS have now released  'You're Driving Me Crazy'  (Anita Wood calls Elvis Presley) a one-sided vinyl 'Promo LP Track' to help advertise their new 6CD/Book combo 'Elvis: Back In Living Stereo'. This is surely one of the strangest Elvis collectable's ever to be released.
It features a 25 minute phone conversation between Anita Wood and Elvis that she recorded in 1961 when she was becoming suspicious of Elvis not being faithful to her.
Worth noting is that because it is a phone conversation recorded in 1961 the audio quality is terrible.
More importantly in this new "Me Too" era Elvis comes off as arrogant, angry and not the charming man all his fans want him to be.
Anita Wood has since stated that she wished she had never made the phone call and it is interesting that in the low-tech early 60s she had decided to record the conversation. You can feel that she was setting Elvis up as she keeps on pushing him for better answers to tricky questions.
What Anita Wood hoped to prove (or record) I have no idea.
Most people at some time or another wish they hadn't said such stupid things to their friends / partners and this feels like such a private conversation I doubt if fans would ever want to listen to it more than once.
Whether this private phone conversation should ever have been released is a debatable point. My personal feeling is that it will be sad interruption in the otherwise glorious up-coming MRS box-set of Elvis' early 60s recordings.
However there is no doubt that this vinyl promo release will become a real Elvis collectable.
You can hear more discussion about this new track in the most recent 'Elvis Express' radio show.

'Elvis: From Hollywood To Nashville' MRS Vinyl review: Released just in time for my birthday MRS has put out a limited edition vinyl compilation 'Elvis: From Hollywood To Nashville - The Essential 1957-58 Studio Masters'.
Featuring a delicious selection of Elvis' studio work from 1957 until he he got "drafted & shafted" in 1958, this album basically features all his studio recordings - except for the movie soundtracks and the ubiquitous Christmas album.

From 'All Shook Up' to 'I Got Stung' Elvis was riding a creative peak.

With a limited pressing of 1,000 copies, 400 in Clear Vinyl and 600 in Black vinyl this is a treat.

EIN grabbed a copy and played it loud - go here for our review.
