'From Here to the Great Unknown' US Paperback release: Elvis' granddaughter and CEO of 'EPE' Riley Keough announced that... "Today the US paperback edition of my mother’s Autobiography 'From Here to the Great Unknown' (Oprah's Book Club) US Paperback edition is out.
I do wish she was here to have seen the overwhelming response her book. She would have been reading all of the comments and the dms about how many people related to her story in some way and found it to be cathartic.
I’m excited for this new little life the book is having and for it to end up in more people’s hands who may have the same experience.
Thanks to everyone on her behalf for all of the love and support."
Prior to the release of the book last year, Keough opened up about the process of finishing the book after Lisa Marie’s death, something she described as being “incredibly painful.”
Since her mom had recorded memories in audio tapes while working on the project, Keough remembered being “so afraid to hear my mother’s voice” as she combed through the stories Lisa Marie left behind. “It was incredibly painful but I couldn’t stop. It was like she was in the room, talking to me. I instantly felt like a child again and I burst into tears.”
The book takes readers through a number of pivotal moments throughout Lisa Marie’s life, including the experience of losing her dad, the King of Rock and Roll, when she was only 9 years old.
.."I loved your mother with all my heart. She was a precious, precocious, funny, brilliant, affectionate little girl who grew into a fierce and talented woman. She was also a woman who loved her children with her whole heart.
You are a beautiful representative of your darling mama, Riley.
Congratulations on bringing Lisa Marie’s poignant story to life. Always sending you and your beautiful family my love.❤️⚡️

'Elvis Day By Day 2017' New Book: A bonus treat for Elvis collectors, Kees Mouwen's 'Elvis Day By Day 2017 - The Year In Review'.
This new volume in the Elvis Presley yearbook series returns to the 40th anniversary year of Elvis' untimely death, preserving his enduring legacy. "It's rare when an artist's talent can touch an entire generation of people. It's even rarer when that same influence affects several generations. Elvis made an imprint on the world of pop music unequaled by any other single performer." - When American television and radio personality Dick Clark spoke these words, he couldn't have imagined they would still ring true so many years later.
The foreword was kindly written by Paul Sweeney. The book itself should be available mid November 2025.
... The year 2017 marked four decades since Elvis' death. Yet his music still topped charts worldwide, and he earned over a dozen new Gold and Platinum awards. Proof that Elvis "never left the building."
This yearbook series returns to the 40th anniversary year of Elvis's death, to preserve his enduring legacy. 2017 saw countless book, movie and music releases, perhaps too many for fans to easily distinguish what's truly worthwhile. Fans enjoyed numerous CD and vinyl releases, spanning Elvis' entire career, from the early SUN Records material on 'A Boy From Tupelo' to the 40th Anniversary Edition of 'Moody Blue'. In between there were themed compilations, FTD Classic Album re-issues and more, Mono to Stereo mixes, and numerous concert releases. Many of Elvis' movies were re-issued on DVD or upgraded to Blu-ray.
New books covered virtually every facet of Elvis' life. Music-focused titles ranged from individual songs to complete annotated overviews of his recordings. New books about his movies and documentaries while authors examined Elvis' impact on culture, his relationship with racism and spirituality and places Elvis visited from Germany to Hawaii. Other titles explored his famous Canadian (1957) and MSG (1972) performances, his TCB band, his Graceland Mansion, his iconic jumpsuits and much more.
2017 also saw the opening of the 'Elvis Presley's Memphis' complex, concert tours and the 'Elvis On Tour' exhibition at London's O2 Arena.
This yearbook preserves all the day-by-day information about every relevant Elvis release, event and milestone from 2017. Every publication is listed, and 55 in-depth reviews by Elvis writers, experts and fans add thoughtful insights from a 2017 perspective. This book comes with a warning: while browsing these pages, you may discover what you missed, and what you want to add to your collection! The expert reviews will offer food for thought, and guide you toward essential additions, while steering you away from disappointing ones.
This makes it a must-have book for serious Elvis fans and collectors. Pre-Order here on PopularTunes and check out the cool YouTube trailer above (News, Source;ElvisDay-By-Day)

'Elvis Religion and Spirituality' New Paul Belard Book: Prolific author Paul Belard has just published his newest book .. 'Elvis Religion and Spirituality as seen through his possessions', an interesting topic that hasn't been explored in detail before.
The description notes.. Early in his career, Elvis said: “I believe in the Bible. I believe that all good things come from God. I don’t believe I’d sing the way I do if God hadn’t wanted me to.” He considered that music was like a religion: “When you experience them both, it should move you.” His devotion to music associated with religion never wavered. He described Gospel music as “the purest thing there is on this earth.”
Elvis’ relationship to faith throughout his life was infinitely more complex. He was a multi-layered individual. His Pentecostal roots ran deep and he mostly identified himself as a Christian. However, in the mid-sixties and further on, he became more of a spiritual seeker, intent on exploring the teachings of various religions. In his own words, “All I want is to know and experience God. I’m a searcher, that’s what I’m all about.”
.. This book aims to tell the story of Elvis’ spirituality through images and objects that belonged to him or which he gave as gifts. Material objects, in fact, are an integral part of our psychic and emotional life, they contribute to building our personality.. They closely follow love relationships, mark family histories, show the essence and spirituality of the people who have owned them.”
The book is 334 pages, out 28 October - - - - - See Amazon US - - - Amazon UK (News, Source;PaulBelard/EIN)

His technical achievements changed everything and still today play a fundamental role in live-music concerts.

Since we started work on the second book, we have been receiving stories from people who were part of it all, and they haven't stopped. The book is now 422 pages, illustrated throughout. It is a more comprehensive book this time, covering Bruce's entire career. There is new material about Elvis, both from Bruce and from the crew who worked with him. Their first-hand accounts add a new dimension, all positive and good reading. We decided to put back release until January to accommodate new material, and to avoid the Christmas crowded market.
I will keep the website updated, thanks. Once we have a firm delivery date we will take orders. - Gary Jackson

'The Sun Singles of Elvis': In-depth Book Review: Elvis specialist Warren Schubert has published his new book via Memphis Mansion - 'The Sun Singles of Elvis – An Illustrated Guide'.
... The publicity noted
This book reveals all the secrets behind Elvis’ most iconic records: the legendary five Sun singles!
How many variations of Elvis’ legendary Sun 209 actually exist?
It includes hundreds of high-resolution photographs showing all known variations and expert analysis that separates myth from fact.
If Elvis hadn't walked into the Memphis Recording Service in mid-1953 our world might be very different today. It was his crucial SUN singles that would not only be the bedrock of his stunning legacy but the music on those fragile pieces of shellac would also go on to change the history of rock'n'roll and popular culture.
Paul Dowling ‘Worldwide Elvis RCA Vinyl Discography' Book: Today Paul Dowling celebrates 51 Years in the Elvis business!
The publication of his massive 'Worldwide Elvis RCA Vinyl Discography' was announced around 5 years ago, even though Dowling notes he has been working on it for decades.
Back in 2016 Dowling told EIN, "It was 1992 when Bernadette Moore (in charge of the BMG Archives, New York) invited me to come up there and do research for my huge Worldwide Discography book which is now around 4000 pages but of course it still hasn't come out as I have found tons and tons of new information and continue to do so daily.
Bernadette gave me total access to any and all files they had on Elvis' vinyl and I found many that even people up there never knew they still had. I came home with over 3000 photocopies of listing notices, production cards, pre production cards, inner office cards, and more.."
Good news as today Dowling posted.. COMING EARLY 2026! A five volume (or more!) series of WORLDWIDE ELVIS RCA vinyl discography books which will include information, including photos, of all label and covers of every 78, single, EP, LP, and promos that were ever issued on RCA in 63 countries!
Note: The book cover shown is not the final version. (News, Source;WWE/EIN)
Paul Dowling is without doubt one of the major names in the Elvis World. He started collecting and selling Elvis vinyl over 50 years ago and probably has the world's largest Elvis Presley record collection.
The 2012 book 'Bootleg Elvis' helped explain how a group of super-keen Elvis fans from around the world, including Paul Dowling, created the fascinating world of Elvis vinyl bootlegs to satisfy demands of Elvis collectors who were being ignored by RCA at the time. In the book Dowling is credited as "revolutionizing the Elvis bootleg scene" due to his desire to create high-quality product that would be even better than the official RCA output.

It adds to, complements - and expands greatly in forensic detail – a lot of the information originally included in our original book Elvis UK (1987) – and much more besides!

'Elvis Presley FTD World' New Book: A new 2-volume book (152 pages each) from David Ward & Atsushi Nakamura covering all the FTD releases until now. Vol 1: FTD Studio Outtakes - FTD Live, Rehearsals, and Private Recordings - FTD Classic Albums Vol 2: FTD Soundtracks, FTD Books, FTD Sessions, and FTD Records The publicity states...
..In 1999 a new label, FTD (Follow That Dream), was founded for avid Elvis fans who wanted more than just official releases. FTD releases were available through fan clubs and Elvis dealers around the world, and were extremely well-received from the start. The variety of releases gradually expanded to include not only CDs & Vinyl, books and sets.
As of late 2025, over 280 FTD titles have been released.
We have compiled all 281 FTD titles in these two books, from Burbank 68, released in 1999, to the most recent, Good Times – The Outtakes Ocean Blue Limited Edition in 2025.
The books are divided into seven sections, as follows: Studio Outtakes (16 titles); Live, Rehearsals, and Private Recordings (87); Classic Albums (40); Soundtracks (31); Books (40); Sessions (16); and Records (52).
As far as possible, within each section, we have arranged each release in order of recording date. (There is also a chronological list by release date at the end of volume 2)
For each release, we have included as much information as possible in the limited space available, including engineer names (where known), catalog numbers, release dates, track listings, recording data, and a few short paragraphs of information about the music.
We have also included a useful list of Elvis’ concert dates from 1969 to 1977, highlighting the FTD titles that have come from them, as well as other important official official live releases. At a glance, you can see how well represented each tour and engagement is in terms of official releases.
Both books contain many beautiful photographs related to their respective titles. We believe that these books will please all Elvis fans, from new devotees to long-term, die-hards.

'Mystery Train' Greil Marcus book 50th Anniv: When Greil Marcus' 'Mystery Train: Images of America in Rock 'N' Roll Music' was first published in 1975 it was described as "Perhaps the finest book ever written about pop music.”
Now at it's 50th anniversary re-release, on Sept 16, 2025, Rolling Stone stated, “In 1975 it was hailed as the greatest book ever written about rock & roll. Fifty years after it came out, there’s a lot more competition — but no other book has come close.”
Bruce Springsteen said, “Gets as close to the heart and soul of America and American music as the best of rock ‘n’ roll.”
In the special 50th-anniversary edition, Greil Marcus revives its analysis of the relationship between rock ‘n’ roll music and America with updated discographies and new intros. Marcus’ definitive book focuses on just six bands and artists: early rock ‘n’ roller Harmonica Frank; country blues singer Robert Johnson; and some of the better-known musicians who followed... including Elvis.
Music journalist / critic Wayne Robinsrecently interviewed the famous author ... which included these comments Wayne Robins: The notes in the 50th anniv edition are copious, and your comments, in the case of Randy Newman, complicated. Greil Marcus: I was originally going to write about The Band, Sly Stone, and Elvis, after Harmonica Frank and Robert Johnson. But the book was coming out too short, so I needed another chapter. .. So I decided on
Randy Newman. And it could be that I became more interested in him as time went on. For the second edition, 1982 well after Elvis's death, I was asked by the publisher to put that Presley chapter in the past tense. I said it would lose all immediacy- that the writing in the chapter is all about immediacy- and that Elvis' story was big enough to hold the present tense even if he was dead. WR: Why was it essential for you to climax "Mystery Train" with a serious exegesis on the importance of Elvis Presley when he was, by 1974, not in the rock conversation? One can't deny the impact that that chapter, "Presliad" had on then-current thinking about Elvis Presley and his place not just in history, but in the ability for the reader to understand the then-current rock and roll world? It made "The Sun Sessions" as essential as "The Basement Tapes." GM: Millions of words had been written about Elvis from his first review in the Memphis Press-Scimitar in 1954 to the most recent piece by Peter Guralnick just before I started writing, but it seemed to me that nobody had written about his music. After the book was published, I would always be asked, "What made Elvis so special?" and I always answered, "The way he sang," and then I could talk about that for another five minutes or another five days. And yes, I wanted to change the conversation, to, essentially, "This dumb hillbilly has forgotten more than you'll ever know”.. I wanted to say that Elvis had been and gone from places no one else would ever get to, but if you listened, the map of those places would begin to fill itself in."

The truth behind Murder at the Parkes Elvis Festival!: In our last site update we posted news about the hidden, darker side of Parkes, NSW, home to the very successful annual Elvis Festival each January. We headlined our news item with “Murder at the Parkes Elvis Festival!”
Our news item was done “tongue-in-cheek” as a lead-in to promoting a new Elvis novel,'Suspicion in Elvis Town'. The 268-page novel, due for publication on November 7 (check Amazon sites for more info), has an eye-catching cover and a plot line described as:
.. “When aspiring TV investigative journalist and self-proclaimed Elvis hater Ted Sherlock is sent to the small country town of Parkes to cover its famous Elvis music festival, he’s convinced both his career and love life are headed down the gurgler. Reporting on a town obsessed with sweaty sequined jumpsuits and greasy pompadours? Ted can’t imagine anything worse or more embarrassing.
But when he witnesses one Elvis impersonator shoot another, Ted realises he’s stumbled onto the scoop of a lifetime—and with his journalistic instincts reignited, Ted teams up with a band of eccentric locals and lovable oddballs to uncover the truth behind the mysterious shooting—while desperately trying to keep his own past under wraps. After rubbing the local police the wrong way and finding his rented van set ablaze, Ted soon learns that this quiet town has a darker side— and if he doesn’t solve the case quickly, he might be the next victim.
Tensions flare with rival reporters, a cranky rooster, and just about everyone Ted meets. As the street parade kicks off, Ted’s not just chasing a big story—he’s being chased himself, all while navigating the hilarious chaos of a life & love in a small town. Sometimes the best mysteries come from the most unexpected places.
The first book in the Elvis Town Series is filled with humour, quirky characters, music, and plenty of charm to make even the biggest cynic smile.”
PS. EIN hopes our original news item didn’t alarm too many Parkes residents. And remember, as Colonel Parker always knew, “any publicity is good publicity”. (News, Source: EIN; Amazon Au)

'Elvis & the Story of the 68 Special' (Simon Goddard): The cover artwork for this May 19, 2026 REISSUE has been released – the book was originally published in 2018. The book from Omnibus Press will contain 368 pages and be available in hardcover, softcover and Kindle formats. The book description:
.. As 1968 dawns, the once King of rock'n'roll faces cultural oblivion. While elsewhere the Sixties are swinging, for Elvis they're sinking- in terrible films, drug addiction, paranoia, religious mania and the mercenary wiles of his psychopathic manager. In the words of the hip young director assigned to his first TV special, Elvis' reputation was "in the toilet." However the same director, Steve Binder, was now about to save it. Together they would embark on the biggest creative fight of Elvis' life. The Comeback plots the incredible true story of Elvis' fall and rise from Army discharge to iconic black leather resurrection. Simon Goddard takes the reader inside the life, music and mind of Elvis, isolated from an America unravelling in its own Sixties chaos of war, racism, riots and assassinations, until his world and theirs collide in the greatest performance of his life.
A genre-busting modernist rock'n'roll fable unlike any music biography you've ever read, The Comeback is the definitive account of how it took Elvis eight years on the big screen to lose his crown - but just one magical hour on a small one to win it back.

Priscilla New book publicity: Multiple media outlets have covered the recent publicity that "Priscilla Presley was gutted when daughter Lisa Marie made life-changing decision to sell EPE"
This report, to publicise her new memoir “Softly, As I Leave You”, repeats the story about Priscilla recalling her upset when Lisa Marie sold 85% of her inheritance of EPE to Bob Sillerman's CKX.
Lisa Marie had come into her inheritance in 1993 but by 2005 Priscilla writes in her book that her daughter was “broke." It was a “personal and financial” crisis that led Lisa Marie to make a life-changing decision.
Priscilla states that she was not confident Lisa Marie had been receiving “good financial advice,” but she found addressing the issue with her to be “very, very delicate.”
Lisa Marie retained the house, the grounds and Elvis' personal effects but relinquished control of “Elvis’ legacy,” which “devastated” her mother, who deemed it a “bad financial decision” since Graceland and EPE would create a stream of income.
While this was no doubt a difficult decision for Lisa Marie, EIN notes that Priscilla's new book “Softly, As I Leave You” leaves out a few pertinent facts...
In news reports at the time it was Bob Sillerman who bought Elvis' name and likeness for $114 million. Elvis' music and house was not part of the deal but the family sold 85 percent of everything else.
Priscilla said at the time that it wasn't an easy decision, "Absolutely. I mean I'm not gonna lie. It's pretty frightening when, you know, you've been a private company for all these years, where you're the boss."
But she then noted "the family business needed an investor to expand - and Sillerman is just the man to do it".
Priscilla added, "He just got it. You know there is no other company like his company."
Apart from her praise, another fact absent from the book is that "Sillerman also paid $6.5 million to Priscilla Presley" and that while "CKX didn't have to pay Priscilla anything, in doing it so would make her more agreeable to appearing at grand openings and the like".
Nor does she note the fact that she remained as EPE Chair/ consultant for 10 years at $500,000+ per annum. In fact she doesn't even mention Sillerman at all, strangely morphing ownership straight to ABG - Joel Weinshanker - which actually happened in May 2011.

'Surviving Elvis' David Stanley new book?: Elvis' stepbrother David Stanley has previously published multiple books on his life with Elvis.
These include... My Brother Elvis: The Final Years.
Conversations with the King: The Enduring Spiritual Legacy of Elvis Presley
Life With Elvis
Raised on Rock: Growing Up at Graceland
The Elvis Encyclopedia
Stanley has now announced that he is working on yet another new book 'Surviving Elvis' to be published later this year - and fans have the option to choose the colour of the cover. EIN notes that unfortunately the picture on the cover is not Elvis but an impersonator! C'mon.....
- Also there is no new update on the announced 'One of The Boys' a "David E. Stanley film" about the stepsons life with Elvis. This was announced back in March 2025 noting ...
... - David Stanley posted that.. Billy, Myself and Ricky lived a life with our brother Elvis that fans from around the world can only dream of. We lived the history firsthand. Before Priscilla and Lisa, before all the girl friends who came and went and through ups and downs that was Elvis’s life, we stood by Elvis our beloved Brother.
Today Vernon and Elvis are gone, Ricky has passed and most of the so called Memphis Mafia are also dead.
After much consideration and much prayer Billy and I have decided to pull all our resources and memories together to do a major motion picture project. The true and untold story of Billy, Ricky, and David Stanley "ELVIS One of The BOYS".
However EIN noted that the same project was also announced back in April 2024 after the success of the movies 'ELVIS' and 'Priscilla' as a "project is being shopped to streaming networks.... a six part mini series for every year 1972-1977"
That got nowhere so perhaps the project has stopped once again.
We await further updates...
EIN's "mini review" of Priscilla Presley's new memoir, "Softly, As I Leave You….Life After Elvis": Following its official release the hardcover edition of Priscilla’s new book has risen to #48 on Amazon's "Top 100 in Books" list and is highly ranked (top 3) in various Amazon genre lists. On September 25 it was #2 on Amazon's "Best Sellers in Actor & Entertainer Biographies" list, held from the top spot by Charlie Sheen's "The Book of Sheen".
Not surprisingly, the book includes a lot of information not in Priscilla's original 1985 memoir, "Elvis and Me".
This includes her post 1985 film and TV career, her son Navarone, both the Baz Luhrmann film, "ELVIS", and the Sophia Coppola film, "Priscilla", Lisa Marie inheriting "Graceland", Lisa Marie's marriages, and poignant accounts of the deaths of Lisa Marie and her son Benjamin.
The narrative flows between highs and lows and fun and heartache.
The book contains a significant amount of content about Lisa Marie and about Navarone (it is obvious how close Priscilla is to her son)!
While Priscilla spent 22 years in a relationship with Marco Garibaldi (father of Navarone), you wouldn't know it reading this memoir. Marco is barely mentioned.
Priscilla doesn't hold back on her view that "Michael (Jackson) was a manipulative man".
Other accounts involve a "scary" Church of Scientology, the always impressive Leslie Nielsen, and (at one point) a "naked" Michael Edwards - the controversial Edwards and Lisa Marie issue is also addressed.
Priscilla's references to "Riley and her husband" come across (to EIN anyway) as impersonal and there is no discussion of the legal case involving Priscilla and Riley. These, together with the "absence" of Marco Garibaldi, unbalance the narrative.
Various chapter titles, taken from both the Elvis Presley and Lisa Marie Presley songbooks, reflect themes in the book, including "Separate Ways", "Suspicious Minds", "Don't Be Cruel", "Memories", "Storm and Grace" and "Lights Out" (this chapter being about Lisa Marie's passing).
The book is an easy and entertaining (at times sad) read but nothing in it is likely to assuage the views of those with a dislike for Priscilla Presley.
It also features many rare "family" photographs.

Elvis Before Graceland (Adrian Keller): Initially published in 2018 as a 247-page hard and softcover, this book will be released as a Kindle edition on September 17.
EIN confirms that it is an enjoyable and lively read and is described as: "The last man to hire Elvis Presley as an hourly employee was James Tipler.
James and his wife, Gladys, owned Crown Electric, an electrical wholesale company where Elvis drove a truck for about nine months. Elvis’ time at Crown was not just crucial for his future career, but it showed the King was all-business long before he became “Elvis”.
Tipler observed Elvis on a regular basis and he shared his views with the current author. His description of Elvis is a unique window in the regular life of the one that would become the King of Rock and Roll.
Tipler’s views were those of a mild but active man with a no-nonsense attitude. This allowed him to observe life objectively and his experience with Elvis was unique in more senses than one.
This is that experience, as told by Tipler."

'King Creole: The Disputed Territories of 1950s American Youth Culture' (Anthony Thomas McKenna): This is an upcoming academic release from Routledge (due out late December in hardcover and Kindle formats).
The promotional blurb: "The author argues that King Creole's release during the death throes of rock and roll in America helps to position it as an outlier among youth films of the time in three distinct ways.
First, the author demonstrates how the post-rock and roll release of the film allowed for a better harnessing of the star's 'Elvisness.'
Second, the author conducts an extensive examination of the film's production records, which show how the film's portrait of youth alienation and delinquency pre-dated America's big screen fixation on these topics, making the film not wholly bound by concurrent youth conventions.
Third, the author challenges the dominant reading of the film as being about intergenerational conflict and asserts that it is about shared grief.
This nuanced approach distinguishes King Creole from other 1950s youth-oriented films and explains its enduring critical acclaim despite commercial underperformance.
"Rich on archival research and textual analysis King Creole: The Disputed Territories of 1950s American Youth Culture will interest both film studies scholars and students. Beyond film studies, this interdisciplinary text is valuable for scholars and students of popular music, American pop culture, celebrity studies, and social history."

Upcoming "German text" ETA release - 'Living Elvis: Ein Leben für den King' (Nils Strassburg): This 276-page softcover (what a terrific cover image) from Molina GmbH is due out on October 15.
The (translated) book description:
... “Living Elvis: Ein Leben für den King (Living Elvis: A Life for the King): Icons don't die, they just fade. Unless they have fans who adore them. The Elvis community knows: The King lives! Nils Strassburg is their priest. This is the book of a passion.
Nils Strassburg shares it with millions of other people: Elvis Presley. Warner Music has named him Germany's best Elvis. He is a performer, he is a fan, and he is Nils Strassburg. In roughly that order. In his autobiographical novel, he tells of rock 'n' roll, his search for the perfect imitation, and how you must first lose yourself before you can find yourself. A musician's life, in other words. "Sturm und Drang arises from oppression. Rock 'n' roll from slavery. Anyone who hasn't understood that can perhaps become an entertainer, but never a rock 'n' roller.
What are you against, if I may ask? Where is your oppression? What limits you? What are you rebelling against, Nils?"”

'The Colonel and the King' In-Depth Book Review: Published early this month Peter Guralnick's new biography ''The Colonel and the King: Tom Parker, Elvis Presley, and the Partnership that Rocked the World' has stimulated new debate.
The publicity promised.. "a groundbreaking dual portrait of the relationship between the iconic artist and his legendary manager — drawing on a wealth of the Colonel's never-before-seen correspondence to reveal that this oft-reviled figure was in fact a confidant, friend, and architect of his client’s success.
It was a relationship founded on mutual admiration and support. From the outset, the Colonel defended Elvis fiercely and indefatigably against RCA executives, Elvis’ own booking agents, and movie moguls. But in their final years together, the story grew darker, as the Colonel found himself unable to protect Elvis from himself or control growing problems of his own."
Unfortunately it appears that in trying to "debunk the myths" and create an alternate viewpoint of Col Parker, Guralnick has ignored a large amount of known history and obfuscates the facts.
Several of Parker's major exploitations of Elvis are deliberately left out!
Why exactly would a respected writer like Guralnick do this?
Guralnick book now a "best seller"?: EIN notes that despite the publicity push, initial sales of the new Guralnick book started off slowly but have now picked up.
Amazon marks it as a "Best Seller" though it is way outside the top 100 selling books - the highest it is ranked is #4,999 on Amazon UK 'Best Selling Books'.
On Amazon US and Amazon Australia it is not even in the top 10,000!
On Amazon's 'Musician Biographies' where you might have expected it to chart highly it stands at #80.
It is however #1 on several sub/genre charts such as Amazon UK's 'Blues Musicians and Blues Biographies'.
On Amazon UK's Top 100 'Best Sellers in Actors & Entertainers Biographies' Lisa Marie's 'From Here to the Great Unknown: A Memoir' is still charting at #59 while Guralnick's 'The Colonel and The King' sits at #94. (News, Source;NP/EIN)

“Iconic Albums” series of books about Elvis’ albums: Author Richard Ward has published a more than 140 books (90-130 pages) examining popular album releases. His series includes (to date) six volumes about Elvis albums.
EIN’s Nigel Patterson offers a mini-review, including addressing the issue of possible AI, based on one of the Elvis volumes, about his debut album, Elvis Presley.
... In March 1956, the world met a voice, a style, and a swagger that would change everything. Elvis Presley, the debut album, was more than just a collection of songs — it was the birth of modern rock'n' roll.
(Book Review) 'Make the Dream Real: World-Building Performance by El Vez, The Mexican Elvis':Many fans will not be familiar with El Vez, the Mexican Elvis, and you are missing out if you don’t.
His blend of colorful punk visual style and politically infused revisionist lyrics to Elvis songs make El Vez one of the most unusual, most important, and most challenging, of performance artists. El Vez is unique among those interpreting Elvis’ song repertoire in that he makes them a political statement, changing lyrics to highlight social injustice /exclusion, economic inequality and rancid cultural mores, suggesting something very different..
A new (academic) book, Make the Dream Real, lifts the lid on the world of El Vez and its importance in a politically fractured and unequal world.
EIN’s Nigel Patterson provides a detailed review of what is a stunning, entertaining, and thought-provoking release. Read Nigel’s review

'Elvis 1956 October 10-31' New Book: Paul Belard has just published his newest Elvis "day-by-day" photo-book, this time looking at Elvis' life in October 1956.
.. In October 1956, Elvis went back to Dallas, Houston, Waco and San Antonio where he gave six shows that drew record crowds.
He returned to Memphis for a few days after his Texas tour. There, he got into a brawl with gas station attendants and, under the eyes of everybody in America, went to court the next day where the trial cleared him of all wrongdoing.
Then he flew to New York for his second appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, a sweet revenge since this was the man who said earlier he would never book Elvis on his program.
Elvis ended the month shooting a new ending for Love Me Tender and frolicking with Hollywood star Natalie Wood in his home town. "I owe a lot to Texas" Elvis once told a Dallas newspaper reporter, "They're the ones who put me over the top." However Elvis, Scotty and Bill put a lot of miles and sweat into it. When Elvis Presley achieved international recognition he never forgot those early days and came back often to Texas.
'Elvis Day By Day 2017: The Year In Review' Special edition: To celebrate the 48th anniversary of Elvis’ death, but also his lasting legacy, Poplar Tunes Publishing will release 'Elvis Day By Day 2017 - The Year In Review' later this year.
This new volume in the Elvis Presley yearbook series returns to the 40th anniversary year of Elvis' untimely death, preserving his enduring legacy. "It's rare when an artist's talent can touch an entire generation of people. It's even rarer when that same influence affects several generations. Elvis made an imprint on the world of pop music unequaled by any other single performer." When Dick Clark spoke these words, he couldn't have imagined they would still ring true so many years later. A Landmark Anniversary Year
The year 2017 marked four decades since Elvis’ death. Yet his music still topped charts worldwide and earned new Gold and Platinum awards. Together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, he toured Europe, Australia and the United States, selling out every major venue. "Elvis never left the building". All The Book, Movie and Music Releases
Fans enjoyed countless re-issues of Elvis’ original recordings alongside bold re-interpretations. New musical backing, newly mixed 'Spliced Takes' and Mono to Stereo conversions gave fresh life to classic material and sparked discussion among collectors.
The many CD and vinyl releases from 2017 spanned his entire career, from early Sun Records material on 'A Boy From Tupelo' to the 40th
Anniversary Edition of 'Moody Blue'. And many of Elvis’ movies were re-issued on DVD or upgraded for Blu-ray presentation.
Publishers released books covering virtually every facet of Elvis’ life. Music-focused titles ranged from individual songs to complete annotated overviews of his recordings.
Concert fans received detailed documentation about his tours, including illustrated looks at his famous Canada (1957) and Madison Square Garden (1972) performances. Authors examined his impact on fans and culture, his relationship with racism and spirituality, and locations he visited from Germany to Hawaii. This book catalogues them all with in-depth reviews of the relevant titles.
Major Events and Exhibitions
Beyond publications, 2017 brought significant events deserving documentation. 'Elvis Presley's Memphis' opened as an impressive forty-five million dollar museum complex in Memphis. London's O2 Arena hosted a major exhibition celebrating his legacy. Remembering Those We Lost
The year brought the loss of many people connected to Elvis’ story. Co-stars Mary Tyler Moore and Suzanna Leigh passed away, along with Memphis Mafia friends Marty Lacker, Sonny West, and Red West.
We lost two original rockers who influenced Elvis: Chuck Berry and Fats Domino. We also said goodbye to Memphis Boys bass player Mike Leech, radio reporter Red Robinson, and television writers Chris Bearde and Alan Weiss. What This Book Offers
This yearbook preserves detailed information about every important Elvis publication from 2017. Every release gets listed, and approximately 40 in-depth reviews by Elvis writers, experts and fans add thoughtful insights to the chronological documentation. All from a 2017 perspective.
The book comes with a friendly warning: while browsing these pages, you may discover not only what you missed, but also what you want to add to your collection! The expert reviews guide you toward essential additions while steering you away from disappointing releases.
A must-have chronicle for serious Elvis fans and collectors.
The book will be released as a paperback and as a Deluxe hardback edition. Pre-orders will start soon.

'The King and the Jester' (Paul Belard) - Kindle edition: Those looking for the counter to Peter Guralnick's controversial, The Colonel and the King, should check out Paul Belard's The King and the Jester.
Initially published last year as a softcover, it is now also available in Kindle format.
... Throughout the book, Belard raises serious questions about Parker’s life and mismanagement of his client. The well-known contracts favoring Parker over Elvis, the numbing effect on Elvis of formulaic films, the Colonel’s status as an illegal alien, his jealousy of the adulation Elvis received, the list is a long one.
One of the strong things about Belard's narrative is that he moves beyond the superficial to detail how what transpired stifled, muffled, and strangled Elvis Presley's career! ...
King Creole: The Disputed Territories of 1950s American Youth Culture (Anthony Thomas McKenna): Due for publication by Routledge in late December, this academic/intellectual release certainly sounds interesting. No cover image yet (but you may enjoy the rare Italian film poster) and the 152-page hardcover is described as:
.. "The author argues that King Creole's release during the death throes of rock and roll in America helps to position it as an outlier among youth films of the time in three distinct ways.
Rich on archival research and textual analysis King Creole: The Disputed Territories of 1950s American Youth Culture will interest both film studies scholars and students. Beyond film studies, this interdisciplinary text is valuable for scholars and students of popular music, American pop culture, celebrity studies, and social history."
The author is Senior Lecturer in Film at Liverpool John Moores University. He is the author of Showman of the Screen: Joseph E. Levine and His Revolutions in Film Promotion and co-author (with Andrew Spicer) of The Man Who Got Carter: Michael Klinger, Independent Production and the British Film Industry, 1960-1980. His other work has appeared in a variety of scholarly journals and edited collections.

'From Here to the Great Unknown’ CHEAP DEALS: In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world might have never known her story, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved.

Profoundly moving and deeply revealing, From Here to the Great Unknown is a book like no other— the last words of the only child of an American icon.

Hardback "collectors" edition of "Disc Jockeys, Preachers, and Elvis": Author, Ron Brandon, has produced a hardback, collector's edition of his book which was originally published in "softcover" in 2022 and an (expanded) edition in 2023, both featuring only b&w photos.
The book is described as: 'Disc Jockeys, Preachers, and Elvis' offers an unparalleled journey into the pivotal era of rock 'n' roll radio and its cultural impact, presented now for the first time with over 250 full-color photographs. This edition goes beyond Elvis Presley himself, capturing the rich tapestry of disc jockeys, and behind-the-scenes figures who shaped the music landscape from the 1950s through the 1990s. The vivid color images breathe new life into unforgettable moments and personalities, transforming the experience for readers by revealing details and atmosphere that black-and-white photos could not fully convey
The cost of this edition reflects the meticulous care taken in sourcing, restoring, and reproducing these photographs in premium full color. Additionally, significant effort has gone into assembling the extensive content, spanning stories from Elvis' 1956 Tupelo performance to the careers of legendary musicians and the Disc Jockeys who brought their music to the airwaves across decades.
For enthusiasts of radio history, rock & roll, and American cultural heritage, Disc Jockeys, Preachers, and Elvis provides an immersive, visually stunning, and deeply informed experience. It is essential both as a collector's item and as an educational resource.

'UK Rock & Roll Magazine' bids farewell: On a sad note the July 2025 issue of 'UK Rock & Roll Magazine' is their final issue.
As the editor explained.... Rock’n’roll will live for ever, but regrettably not this magazine. I’m sorry to say that after 30 years of publication, the run of UK Rock’n’Roll Magazine comes to an end with this issue. For me personally its been a heck of a ride, I’ve grown from a rock’n’roll novice to at least knowing there’s a lot a don’t know about The Big Beat, the joy it brings to its followers and the devotion those followers have to the first music of the ‘rock’ era. I hope those who’ve bought the magazine over the years have enjoyed what they’ve found within, and if what they’ve read has opened their ears to a new band, singer or song, or encouraged them to get out to a gig or a larger event, well the magazine’s done some good.
See you around and Rock On…. Johnny Hop
Started in 1995 the magazine focused more on local heroes, UK 'Rock & Roll weekenders', regular articles on the importance of 'doghouse-bass', new artists, psychobilly and live gigs - although Elvis Presley was always within its pages. And of course ELVIS is on the front cover of the final issue..
The magazine will be missed by many.

Paul Bélard - An impressive publishing record: With around 40 Elvis books already published, prolific author-researcher, Paul Bélard, has established a cult following with his mix of "day-by-day" photo-books and subject specific releases focusing on controversial and important parts of the Elvis story.
The books are chock full of contextual narrative and hundreds of photos and rare archival material.
Over the first half of 2025, Paul has already published seven titles!
Bélard explains, "It's a thrill every time I discover an Elvis picture that I had never seen before, even if the quality isn't perfect. Through my books I want fans to be able to follow Elvis day-by-day, sometimes hour-by-hour. These books are historical documents, a scholarly study of Elvis’ career." In Nigel Patterson's feature article, EIN provides details on the latest Paul Bélard releases, a full list of his Elvis books (including links to titles reviewed by EIN), background information about Paul – plus links to two interviews we have conducted with him. (Spotlight, Source:ElvisInformationNetwork)
'Elvis 1958 June-July-August' New Book: With neat synchronicity Paul Belard has just published his newest Elvis "day-by-day" photo-book, this time looking at Elvis' life in June-July-August 1958.
It neatly follows on from his most recent volume 'Elvis April - May 1958.'
... "Elvis' basic training completed on Saturday May 31st, Elvis left Fort Hood early in the morning on his way to Memphis where he would spend a two-week leave. On June 10th, he went to Nashville for a recording session. It would be his last session for nearly two years.
After his return to Fort Hood, Elvis was allowed to live off base because one of his parents was classified as dependent. He rented a house in Killeen, a town close to Fort Hood.
On August 8th, Elvis' ailing mother was moved to the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. The 12th he was granted an emergency leave and flew to Memphis. His mother passed away on the 14th.
The funeral took place the next day. On the 24th, a devastated Elvis returned to Fort Hood."
'Elvis Presley and Col Parker' Peter Guralnick book preview: The excellent YouTube channel 'Elvis Archival Preservation Society' have obtained an advanced reader copy of Guralnick's "The Colonel And The King."
It is fascinating to get a few insights - but sadly no real surprise as Guralnick, a fine writer, has always been an apologist for Parker. After all Guralnick was a friend of Parker and possibly a member of Parker's ridiculous 'Snowmen's League of America.'
Obviously trying to attract a buzz by counteracting some of the stories in Baz Luhrmann dramatic movie "Elvis" (EIN cannot imagine this book being published before the Luhrmann movie) there can be little surprise that the book is rather positive towards the old carny.
EAP's Jamie Kelley and John Michael Heath look at the book in detail over two hours and they note that various negative facts about Parker are for some reason missed out or just ignored..
Hank Snow is not quoted as saying, "I have worked with several managers over the years and have had respect for them all except one. Tom Parker was the most egotistical, obnoxious human being I've ever had dealings with."
The fabulously creative Leiber & Stoller are not in the book. There is no investigation of their argument with Parker - "So I called Col Parker back and said, "Tom, I thought about what you told me... I spoke to Mike about the contract, and he told me to tell you to go fuck yourself." I hung up, and I never spoke to him again.”
Nothing about Parker's dodgy 'BOXCAR' deal
Nothing about the 1977 Louisville, Kentucky incident when – as featured in Luhrmann’s movie, "Dr Nick was dunking Elvis' head into a bucket of iced-water to revive him."
So much appears to have been left out - even Parker's idea for the 68 Comeback Special to be a family-orientated "Christmas" show does not match Steve Binder's version.
Guess what, it all sounds like a SNOW-JOB! - - Perhaps Parker's ghost still haunts Guralnick,

(Book Review) 'Elvis: April - May 1958': The new Elvis "day-by-day" photo-journal release from Paul Belard, "Elvis April-May 1958 " is out now.
Over 208 pages, and with more than 200 photos, the book looks at Elvis' first two months in the army
These two months would have been the most traumatising for Elvis. None of us can imagine his real feelings as Elvis went from being the world’s biggest entertainer to becoming a regular soldier doing group exercises, sit-ups, marching, shoe cleaning, ‘K.P’ and all the time not knowing what the next two years would bring.
While Elvis would spend these months doing basic training, it would be his interactions with his army mates and the general public that help enrich our knowledge of the kind of person Elvis really was.
With plenty of books presenting the wild-side of Elvis the superstar-performer in 1957, in 'April - May 1958' it's revealing to see more of the "real Elvis."
New novel - The Impersonator: An Elvis Story (Kelly Peach): Concluding a story started with the author's Waking Up in Graceland (and continued in Amazing Grace), the story concludes in this 249-page softcover.
The plot:
"It took a bit of trying, but Maggie, obsessed with Elvis her entire life, has finally convinced her local newspaper to send a reporter with her to Graceland. They story gathering experience starts out well, but after a night of partying on Beale Street, Graceland has changed.
It's December 1960. And guess who's home for Christmas?"
Waking Up in Graceland is the first book in this Elvis series, followed by Amazing Grace and concluding with this volume
New Portrait books from Elvis Files: Erik Lorentzen's Elvis Files organisation has announced the early August release of two new "hardcover" photobooks, ELVIS Portraits 1960-1964 and ELVIS Portraits 1965-1969.
Elvis Portraits: 1960-1964 & 1965-1969 A Life in Photos. 700 pages presented in two hardbooks with the most beautiful and so many unseen photos of the most photographed person in the world ... Elvis Presley.
His appearance, his charming approach, his gorgeous looks ... he can play the photographer's lens with his lasting personality.
Elvis is the most recognizable person in the world, even more so today - 45 years after his untimely death. Young and old of every generation will recognize something of themselves in that man who once had a dream being a young boy, a truck driver - an electrician ... Elvis made all of his dreams come true starting from the age of nineteen.
A millionaire at 21, a sex symbol at the same age too. A movie star - a personality and a living legend.
Elvis touched many lives and this book contains all facets of that time that we remember him by. For every reader there is a memory of a particular photo printed in these two books.
Both editions are available from early August.

'Elvis Presley: Unpublished Concert, Tour and Rehearsal Filmed Footage' E-Book: This is the latest Kindle book from Garry Gomersall, author of "Elvis Presley Autograph Guide".
The 215 page release is described as:
"Over half a century has passed since the filming of Elvis That’s The Way It Is (1970) and Elvis On Tour (1972) yet fans are still not given the privilege of seeing all the professionally shot footage taken of Elvis in his prime as a performer. Elvis deserves better, and so do his fans – to both of whom this essay is dedicated.
"With the recent announcement of a reimagined Elvis Presley in Concert (EPiC) project currently under development by the Elvis (2022) film director and producer Baz Luhrmann - this book is a timely reminder and prompt to those involved to finally do the right thing by Elvis and his fans and to show the world just what they have all been missing. Taking Care of Business."

'The King and the Colonel' - Peter Guralnick new book:'Publishers Weekly' has posted a promo interview with author Peter Guralnick...
Henry Carrigan asked the questions including.. How did this book come about?
PG - This book has really been 30 years in the making, ever since my wife and I got access to the Elvis archives, where I discovered this vast collection of Col Parker’s letters and other materials. Almost as soon as I saw the letters, I saw that the Colonel who revealed himself in them was so bright, so funny, so resourceful, and absolutely dedicated to the interests of his artist, (EIN: Seriously?) as he referred to his client, and the connection between them. I felt like he’s gotten such a raw deal from history, and that’s increased exponentially in recent years. I wanted to restore him to his true place in history. - What were his strengths and weaknesses as a manager?
PG - His greatest strength was that he was for his artists he was 110% dedicated to the interest of his artists, was committed to offering them every opportunity for creative expression.(EIN: Seriously?). His greatest weakness stemmed from a childhood that appears to have been severely traumatic and led to his mistrust of others. He placed all his faith in Eddy Arnold, and when Arnold fired him in 1953, he was absolutely devastated, he just didn’t see it coming. - How did Parker come by the title Colonel?
PG - He got two appointments - one from the governor of Louisiana and, later, from the governor of Tennessee, Frank Clement. He enjoyed getting people’s respect in a sense through the title, but also saw it as utterly ridiculous, and referred to himself frequently as a phony. With his old friends, he remained Tom, or “your pal Tom.” - What do you want readers to take away from your book?
PG - I’d like them to carry a picture of someone who is as unique an individual as they’re ever likely to encounter, who created so much of the way in which pop music has come to be experienced and who did it out of genuine love and joy.(EIN: Seriously?) In his relationship with Elvis, they found a commonality - each of them, I think, had a vision of something that was inexpressible because it was a vision of something that didn’t exist. Yet each of them believed in the talents and dedication of the other to the extent that they were prepared to throw everything else aside. They traveled the world together for 10 years, with total faith in each other, and it was not a one-way street. It’s the way in which that love sort of declined in the last few years of their relationship that I think gives the story a tragic tinge I had never expected to encounter.

'Elvis UK Compact Vol.3' (physical copy):'Elvis UK Compact Volume 3' the third and final volume of this major series of books (comprising three soft-backed print volumes), will be published and available to buy very soon and continues the story from where the already successful and widely acclaimed Volumes 1&2 left off.
- What can you expect to find in Volume 3?
CD singles, Various Artist CDs that include Elvis tracks, film soundtrack CDs, BMG promotional CDs, BMG in-house promos, VA promotional material, CD-Rs, Interviews and spoken word releases, live recordings, recording modes, song versions, home recordings, plus an 80-page song title index that also references outtakes! In other words – the complete picture!
As with previous volumes, apart from minor changes to the layout, revised cover artwork, and a new introduction and conclusion, the print copy edition contains exactly the same content as the digital flip book version. Nothing major has been added; nothing omitted.

Updated edition of Alanna Nash and Alan Fortas's "Elvis - From Memphis to Hollywood" for late 2025: Danish author Stig Ulrichsen announced the Fall 2025 release of an updated version of Alanna Nash and Alan Fortas' book 'Elvis - From Memphis to Hollywood', which was originally released in 1992 and republished in 2008 (see cover image).
The 1992 edition listed only Alan Fortas as author, but it was later revealed it had been co-written by acclaimed Elvis author, Alanna Nash (Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations from the Memphis Mafia; The Colonel: The Extraordinary Story of Colonel Tom Parker and Elvis Presley; Baby, Let's Play House: Elvis Presley and the Women Who Loved Him).
Ulrichsen posted on Facebook: I am extremely happy and proud to share that I have just signed a publishing contract with my good friend, award-winning author and journalist Alanna Nash and Miles Fortas - son of Alan Fortas, who was a good friend of Elvis Presley and worked closely with him for 12 years.
In the fall of 2025, our new and updated version will be published by my publisher Nunatak, originally written by Alanna and based on Alan Fortas' own experiences.
The original edition is almost impossible to find today and it is priced at around US$130, if you are lucky. Therefore, it is a great honor to bring this great story back to Elvis fans all over the world.
Look forward to an exciting reissue filled with photos, updated stories and a love for music history that only a few like Alanna can convey.
Alanna has received numerous awards for her work and is one of the most respected writers in the field of music journalism, so it is a special honor to work with her on this reissue. More information coming soon - stay tuned! (Source: ElvisDaybyDay; EIN)

(New book) The Million Dollar Quartet and the Challenges of Oral Testimony (Steven K. Rogstad): This recently released softcover has an interesting title premise. However, with only 72 pages........??
The book description on Amazon includes:
.."An event like it had never happened before. The probability of it ever occurring again remains slim to none. It was a brief episode in the origins of rock and roll music that has achieved mythical proportions and inspired a major Broadway musical that continues to tour the United States to large audiences. Some events occur as a result of a collision of unforeseen or spontaneous circumstances, which preclude them from being repeated or chronicled. When something fun or exciting happens extemporaneously, the people involved rarely notice that what is taking place may be significant or worthy of remembrance.
"What they do recall afterwards – especially if it has been clothed in historical significance - is often filtered through the distorted lens of time and influenced by their role in it. This story is about when four young recording artists - Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley - grouped around a piano and sang themselves into music history.
"As Presley played the piano and sang lead for the quartet, a technician eventually turned on a taping machine, while someone else called a local newspaper for a reporter and a photographer to capture the event for posterity. A few hours later the impromptu jam session was over and the group went their separate ways. But a few photographs had been taken and numerous songs had been recorded. It would be the only time the four men would ever sing together as a quartet. “It could have happened only
at Sun Records,” one music historian has determined, “and probably only in Memphis….”"

'Case Computer Elvis Presley' (Justin Tully): Just published in softcover and Kindle editions is this 352-page novel.
The book description: "Case Computer Elvis Presley is the story of a group of people from 2012 looking into the various theories about what became of Elvis in August 1977. After they'd huddled around the computer screen they viewed a picture of Elvis after he'd passed away, but as they viewed the picture the case computer they'd unknowingly used reacted to it.
Before anyone could say or do anything about it the case computer threw them all back in time to two days before Elvis drew his last breath. It's August 14th 1977 and the people from the future are there for a reason, but it doesn't take long for them to work out what that reason is. Now their mission is to try and get in touch and speak to Elvis before August 16th comes around, but that was never going to be an easy thing for them to accomplish."
Can they get to talk to Elvis and if they can will they be able to do anything about what's scheduled to come to pass? Find out in this new case computer story for 2012..."
New Kindle releases: EIN suspects these new Kindle books are a case of "caveat emptor" ("buyer beware").
'The Dark Side Of Elvis' hilariously features a fake photo of Elvis on the front cover. And who is his character name 'Orcheta'?
'Elvis Presley: A Life of Music, Fame, and Immortality' described as "an unforgettable journey through the life of Elvis" is all of 55 pages. The cover drawing sort of looks like Elvis but what's with the weird sunglasses on the floor of the stage?
'Priscilla: Beyond Graceland' a Rhea Allwood book with an obviously fake Priscilla photo on the front cover, is described as "an unforgettable biography" yet is only 43 pages.
'The Life of Lisa Marie Presley', another Rhea Allwood book, is all of 49 pages. The cover photo is obviously not of Lisa Marie and the book starts by noting that Lisa Marie was 'only 4 years old when her parents divorced'. She wasn't, she was 5 1/2 years old.

Jailhouse Escape: War der Tod des King inszeniert? (Dr. Vernon Coleman): Published on May 6, this 272-page German text release appears to be a German language edition of the author’s original 2019 novel, My Secret Years with Elvis.
The title translates as Jailhouse Escape: Was the King’s death staged? The book is available in softcover and Kindle formats. The author is a prolific writer with many titles published.
The book description on Amazon:
... He was the King – and never died. What if Elvis Presley simply staged his death? A musical thriller about one of the greatest legends of all time – and the secret life that began afterward. August 1977: The world literally stands still – Elvis Presley is dead. Officially. But in truth, this is the moment when one of the most spectacular escapes of the 20th century begins.
In "Jailhouse Escape - How Elvis Staged His Death" bestselling author Vernon Coleman tells the breathtaking story behind the myth: a terminally ill doppelganger, a tampered coffin, and two new British passports – for Elvis and his accomplice.
Completely worn down by fame, medication, and surveillance, Elvis Presley
sees only one way out in 1977: disappearance. It's final and irrevocable. With the help of a terminally ill doppelganger, his inner circle —and the author, who has access to an elaborate escape network —the unimaginable actually happens: While millions of fans mourn, Elvis lives a new, hidden, stress-free life —in the Parisian underground. Colonel Parker, Elvis's manager, ultimately approved the faked death because he believed it was Elvis's best career decision —guaranteed to boost sales of records, souvenirs, and memorabilia immeasurably.
Colonel Parker had shamelessly earned more than 100 million dollars from Presley, but lost almost his entire fortune due to his pathological gambling addiction. The escape leads from Graceland via Mexico to Paris, where the King begins a new life under the name Alvin R..... in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower on the Seine, hidden in jazz cellars, he writes new songs, keeps secret diaries— and meets a woman who is never allowed to ask who he really is.
The book supposedly... Draws on first-hand accounts from Elvis’ wife, Priscilla, his friends and family, the Memphis Mafia, and his spiritual advisors.
- Looks at key teachers who influenced him, including Yogananda, H. P. Blavatsky, and Manly P. Hall
- Examines Elvis’s efforts as a natural healer, the significance of his UFO encounters, and his telekinetic, psychic, and astral traveling abilities..
Elvis Presley was the most successful solo artist in history and an emblematic cultural figure of the Western world, however the truth about the man has been missed....
EIN’s Nigel Patterson entered the secretive realms of an arcane world to discover its relationship and importance to Elvis. It was a surprising journey!
'From Elvis in Memphis: La última gran evasión de Elvis (Eduardo Izquierdo)' New Book: This 170 page Spanish text release will be published by Efe Eme next week (May 14). The translated description (Amazon Spain) is:
... "Eduardo Izquierdo, scholar and student of Elvis, recounts all the ins and outs surrounding the creation and recording of the legendary From Elvis in Memphis. The peak of Elvis's mature career and a landmark work in rock history. No matter how much time passes, Elvis remains the King. Let no one doubt it. Of rock, popular music, or whatever. However, his career wasn't all good times.
"In this book, Eduardo Izquierdo, a scholar and student of his figure and work, delves into the ins and outs surrounding the creation and recording of the legendary From Elvis in Memphis. The album with which, in 1969 and after a few years of declining popularity, he returned to the forefront, creating a masterpiece considered the peak of his mature career. This was a self-confident Elvis, making decisions, bursting with talent, and eager to reign again, who showed his unconditional love for music and songs in an album that stands the test of time.
"All of this is analyzed by Eduardo Izquierdo, who subtly draws a profile of those who surrounded Elvis during his time."
The publicity notes... Elvis died on August 16th, 1977, at the age of just 42, in his Graceland mansion. His death marked something significant in the collective mind, like the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, or Martin Luther King.
Conspiracy theories took off about the circumstances surrounding his death: Was Elvis murdered by the mob? Was his death faked? Did Elvis commit suicide? Is he still alive? This book sheds new light on many of these questions, while also celebrating his music and legacy.
'Elvis ’57: The Final Fifties Tours' New FTD Book:'Elvis ’57: The Final Fifties Tours' is a new 500-page FTD book release. It comes with a compact 33rpm EP.
The book features over 300 photos many rare and unpublished.
...In 1957, Elvis Aron Presley was still a one man phenomenon with six titles on the charts, one movie to his credit, and two movies soon to follow. But while he pursued his dream of becoming a Hollywood actor, the military draft threatened to shatter it along with his wildly successful rock ‘n’ roll career. Elvis couldn’t resist the excitement he found performing on stage before swarms of shrieking teenage girls, and in that final year before he entered the U.S. Army, he went back on the road for three short tours.

'Elvis ’57' recalls that magical year when the King played to audiences a quarter of a million people strong, and controversy and pandemonium accompanied him wherever he went.
Alan Hanson takes us for a rollicking ride through eighteen major cities in the United States and Canada. Elvis wore his famed gold lame suit and thirteen girls fainted in an effort to reach him. In Vancouver, British Columbia, thousands left their seats and rushed the stage, forcing him to abruptly end the show. Drawing on first-hand accounts from the disc-jockeys on the front lines of Elvis’s exploding career and fans who attended the ’57 concerts, Hanson sweeps you back to the years that forever changed the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Note that the text of this new edition is the same as the original paperback edition, with only a few errors corrected. The big difference is the 100s of photos from Pal Granlund's collection many rare and unpublished.
EIN Note; Hanson's original paperback 'Elvis ’57: The Final Fifties Tours' was sensational (see EIN review)
He has also published the very enjoyable 'Elvis: The Movies' via 'The Elvis Files'.
Back in 2015 'The Elvis Files' also published the 416-page 'A Touch Of Gold Lame' which included hundreds of stunning photos from Elvis' 1957 concerts.
Not forgetting Paul Sweeney's fabulous 'One Night In Toronto'
It will be interesting to see how the books compare. (News, Source;FTD/ElvisInfoNet)
Second edition of 'ELVIS: The King of the Rings Volume 1': Author Paul Belard has released a 2nd edition of his popular 252-page softcover book, 'The King of Rings Volume 1'. The only change from the original 2023 release is a new cover.
The book is a great, visually colorful record of Elvis' love of glittery jewelry of the ring type.
The book description on Amazon..
.. Elvis liked expensive things: cars, motorcycles, clothes, and jewelry. His jewels befitted a king. He wore sumptuous pendants hung on heavy gold chains; huge and lavish rings set with rubies, sapphires, lapis lazuli, and emeralds; bracelets of gold and precious gems. Like Elvis himself, they were at times dazzlingly tasteful and beautiful,
and at other times flashy and ostentatious. Occasionally, he would design the jewels himself, such as the famous TCB - Taking Care of Business - pendant and ring.
He loved to give his possessions away to people close to him, as well as to complete strangers. The value of the item was of no concern to him. An expensive horseshoe ring was designed by Memphis jeweller Lowell Hays, specifically for Elvis to wear on stage during his televised Aloha from Hawaii performance in 1973. Elvis gave the ring away a few years later. It eventually sold at auction in 2017 for $204,800. - Shown: the 2023 edition (multi-ring cover) and 2025 edition (single ring cover) Read EIN's review of the book: (News, Source:EDBD; Amazon) - get here at Amazon US < or > Amazon UK

(New book release) In the Name of the Father, the Son and Elvis Presley - Inspired by true events (Suzanne Marie): This recently published and reasonably priced 531-page "new age/paranormal" book is available in softcover and Kindle formats. It is inspired by one woman's experience of being guided by the spirit of Elvis Presley.
While it won't be to every fan's liking, it certainly is a different sort of book and highlights how eclectic Elvis' impact continues to be.
The book is described on Amazon as:
... "Sue's journey began in 1996 when she noticed spiritual activity around her. Guided by a past life love, she became central in her own story, seeking to understand why she was chosen. She followed his guidance to connect with the spiritual realm through meditation and movement. Overcoming challenges, Sue, with Elvis's help, shared her knowledge to help others find happiness, love, and fulfilment. Her early visions reflected a child's innocence, highlighting her search for Jesus and her love of music and dance, her journey lead her to search for her soul tribe only a monkey threw a spanner in the works.
- "It was not the monkeys fault for they lived in a world of the 3D. During her quest for answers, Sue encountered a multitude of otherworldly activities that revealed her latent abilities. Despite not being highly educated in the traditional sense — a fact often pointed out by those who doubted her potential — Sue's experiences shaped her uniquely. Her early years were marked by trauma; her father, an alcoholic, was abusive towards her mother, leaving Sue and her siblings deeply affected.
"Sue found solace in dance during her school years, often spending leisure time in the playground teaching younger children to dance. At fifteen, she suffered a horrific assault which led to her drinking. She married at twenty-one, had two children, and divorced by twenty-five.
.. Years of ongoing trauma culminated in a moment of profound despair when Sue attempted to take her own life at thirty-five. She described an out-of-body experience where she heard the words "not now, God—the children." This pivotal moment sparked a spiritual awakening, prompting Sue to seek love and validation to find what was hidden deep within herself.
"Her journey is chronicled in a trilogy of books that detail her battle against demonic forces and her discovery of inner strength and divine connection. Despite numerous challenges, Sue's unwavering faith manifested new beginnings, creating a narrative of perseverance and spiritual growth.
"This trilogy tells the extraordinary story of Sue's resilience and her journey towards finding peace and purpose, underscoring the universal truth that true power lies within and is connected to a higher spiritual existence.
"Book 1, Part 1 includes her journey to the Holy Land, while Part 2 describes her trip to Cannes The South of France. She becomes energetically and spiritually entwined in a never-ending story of spiritual uplifting through the energetic vibration of music and an outpouring of love from those illustrating the universal language of love and divine timing. The book hints at a larger ongoing story of spiritual growth as visions and dreams continued her quest for knowledge deepened as her passions and interests in enlightenment accelerated.
"The book suggests a broader narrative of spiritual development, as visions and dreams persistently guided her quest for knowledge. Her dedication to enlightenment intensified as her passions and interests grew an odyssey emerged." (News, Source: Amazon/EIN) - See Amazon Links below ..
Priscilla Presley – the Playboy Photoshoot, potentially starring in Charlie’s Angels, and the Presley name: With Priscilla Presley’s new memoir, Softly, As I Leave You Life After Elvis, only months away, EIN revisited her original memoir, Elvis and Me (1985), and Suzanne Finstad’s book, Child Bride: The Untold Story of Priscilla Beaulieu (1997).
From the latter we suspect many readers will be surprised about these excerpts:
“Things began to happen once Priscilla assembled her entourage, made up of William Morris agents, a personal manager, and the independent scouts she had prowling the industry to find her a contract, make her a star. Hollywood executives, interested in the curiosity value of Priscilla Presley, came forth with offers, badgered by Joel Stevens. Kate Jackson had just left Charlie’s Angels, and Priscilla was asked to replace her, or at least read for the part. She turned down the offer, saying later, “Charlie’s Angels just didn’t appeal to me. I was afraid of getting typed, just like most of the girls did. Once you do a Charlie’s Angels, you are a Charlie’s Angels girl. And you are just pretty. I wanted to do more.”
“Priscilla posed for a Playboy layout and approved the cover shot but then backed out, a perfect illustration of the good girl–bad girl split that conflicted her. “I reneged on it. I guess they offered quite a bit of money to do it.… I couldn’t live with myself. I’ve always been a bit shy in that area, and I always thought, It will come back to haunt me. I always think of that. And thank God, because look at all the girls it’s come back to haunt.”
“The Charlie’s Angels producers and Hugh Hefner saw Priscilla Presley as a name that would elicit attention and interest from the public. She got her first major contract shortly afterward as a spokesmodel for Wella Balsam, for essentially the same reason. “Because it was ‘Priscilla Presley represents Wella Balsam,’ ” recalled Mike Edwards, who had listened to Priscilla earlier announce that she would drop the Presley name when she got her first job and be known thereafter as Priscilla Beaulieu.
Reality - financial reality - intervened, however. Mike said, “She’s smart enough to know, ‘Wow, I should probably … keep this [name], because it’s a moneymaker.’ ” Priscilla was replacing Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett - two of the original Charlie’s Angels, ironically - as the face of Wella Balsam.”
Gail Brewer-Giorgio has died: Prolific Elvis author, Gail Brewer Giorgio, has died, aged 85. She is best known for her 1988 million-copy selling book, The Most Incredible Elvis Presley Story Ever Told(HB) / Is Elvis Alive aka The Elvis Tape (softcover + cassette), which was a non-fiction adaptation of her 1978 novel, Orion: The Living Superstar of Song.
The book generated a thriving group of "underground" organisations promoting and activating around the "faked death" theory....... not to forget the thousands of newspapers and magazines that covered the story for several decades. It also resulted in the arrival of the charismatic masked singer, Orion (Jimmy Ellis), who many believed to be Elvis.
Following the success of The Elvis Files/ Tape, Ms Brewer-Giorgio wrote The Elvis Files! (Was His Death Faked?) (1990);Elvis Undercover: Is He Alive and Coming Back? (1999); and a book of poetry, Roses to Elvis.
Ms Brewer-Giorgio was a founding member of the self-appointed Presley Commission, a group which investigated Elvis' death and produced a somewhat disjointed 312-page record (The Presley Report) on its findings.
Ms Brewer-Giorgio was also a key consultant for the two Bill Bixby hosted TV specials, The Elvis Files(1991) and The Elvis Conspiracy(1992). She alleged she was ripped off by the producers of the specials.
Regardless of what you think about Gail Brewer-Giorgio, she has the distinction of being only one of a handful of authors who have released a million-copy selling book about Elvis, and a key figure in what was a large and intriguing community of Elvis fans who believed Elvis may have faked his death. .. This biography delves into the remarkable life of Elvis, exploring his family background, music career, films, and enduring legacy. Includes QR-Codes for an immersive reading experience.
More than just a musician, Elvis symbolized the rebellious spirit of a younger generation disillusioned with the rigid norms of the 1950s.
In an era dominated by stars like Frank Sinatra and the early Beatles, Elvis broke the mould with his electrifying stage presence and unapologetic charisma, becoming an emblem of anti-establishment energy.

The Lisa Marie – The King’s Flying Graceland (Carlos Varrenti): The latest book from aviation expert and longtime Elvis fan, Carlos Varrenti, is now available from Amazon stores.
The author commented on his new book: “In the world of music, few names resonate as profoundly as Elvis Presley's. While "The King of Rock 'n' Roll" is celebrated for his legendary music and iconic performances, there exists another dimension to his life that has long captivated me: his enduring romance with the skies.
“In my previous editions of "The Airplanes & The King," I embarked on a journey to explore Elvis's remarkable aviation adventures. I delved into the aircraft he chartered, purchased, and occasionally flew, providing a glimpse into his fearless exploration of the world of flight. Yet, with each passing edition, I couldn't help but feel that there was a significant piece of the puzzle left unexamined as deserved—the centerpiece of Elvis's aeronautical legacy: The Lisa Marie.”
The 550-page hardback is filled with fascinating information, photos, flight plans, Lisa Marie plane technical details, Lisa Marie airplane memorabilia, and stories by those who flew the plane ("Anyone for a sandwich?") and those who flew on it with Elvis.

'January - March 2025........ The "likely" AI releases': EIN checks out some recent 'AI generated" books'..
.. Background...
The introduction of Chat GPT in 2022 followed by other artificial
intelligence programs has allowed anyone to "quickly author" a book. Since 2022, there have been hundreds of "likely AI generated" book releases about not only Elvis, but also other notable members of his family.
The number of titles about Elvis that are "likely" AI generated exceeds 100.
In 2023, following Lisa Marie Presley's passing in January more than 100 "quickie" biographies about her were published that year!
There have also been numerous "quickie" books about Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough.
The AI programs are also being used to produce Elvis quiz and word game books, and calendars.
The releases can have hardcover, softcover and digital (Kindle) editions.
Some books feature some rather strange cover images that are obviously not Elvis nor Lisa Marie..
These "quickie and likely AI books" are characterised by:
- obvious AI generated cover image (and occasionally an AI image of another person)*
- usually non-fiction
- typically biographies
- repetitive and superficial narrative
- factual errors
- for books originating from a non-English background, incorrect translations of album titles
- low number of pages (most between 10 and 50-70 pages)
- use of a large font size
- double line spacing
- low purchase price
- obvious lack of proofreading
- many titles quickly disappear from sales listings
** Note: not all releases with an AI generated cover image contain AI generated text
Two examples of AI generated text are included below..
These are the covers for the "likely AI" books released in the past three-four months: Buyer Beware
Below, for example, is an excerpt from chapter one of 'Elvis Unplugged: The King Behind the Crown'
... While other boys slung baseballs or kicked up dust, young Elvis unleashed a different kind of magic, one string at a time on that old guitar that had seen better days, celebrating life with every chord.
As he started school, the boy with the wild hair and the mischievous smile found himself on the stage of the local talent show. There it was —a music competition that promised glory and a taste of stardom — but little Elvis faced it like a heavyweight contender stepping into the ring for the first time. Would he freeze or could he swing? Well, you bet this kid was going to make some noise.
With his heart racing faster than a train coming down the tracks, he stood behind the curtain peering out at the crowd, a mix of anticipation and sheer terror gripping his insides. The buzz of laughter and conversation wrapped around him like a warm hug — until it started feeling a bit too tight.
When he finally stepped on stage, the spotlight hit him like a beam from the heavens — "Showtime, baby!" he must have thought, and in that moment, he transformed into a whirlwind of energy, belting out gospel tunes as if he were channeling the spirits of all the greats who had sung before him. The audience — old folks nodding in approval, children giggling, and deacons blushing — sat in awe as this little dynamo lit up the room."
The book 'AI Explains Elvis Presley' is a strange compilation of paragraphs taken from other authors (+ other text), but is more odd in the fact it rarely uses Elvis' name (or anyone else's!) preferring to only use pronouns. This extract from the book is an example of the strange text..
.... A persistent drive to push boundaries was evident long before widespread acclaim. In quiet, almost solitary practice sessions, time was meticulously devoted to perfecting the interplay between vocal dynamism and instrumental accompaniment. This period of introspection — a private laboratory of sound — allowed for bold leaps in both technique and interpretation. The exploration was fearless, as subtle changes in phrasing and innovative modulations began to define a newfound identity, one that was as unpredictable as it was captivating.
In these moments of creative solitude, every note was an experiment, every modulation a discovery, and every performance an opportunity to pierce the veil of conventional music. The result was a sound that was both disruptive and exquisitely mindful of its roots, a true synthesis of creative passion and technical dexterity.
Distinct from many contemporaries, this unique talent was less concerned with outward accolades and more with the integrity of each artistic display.
Note that 'Presley's Daughter, Her Own Voice' even misspells her name on the front cover as 'Lisa Mar Presley'!

American Pop: Pop Culture in the 50s (Taylor Prescott): This recent 379-page release (hardcover, softcover and Kindle editions), while not directly about Elvis, obviously includes him as an important part of the author's examination of the momentous pop culture changes that occurred in America during the 1950s.
The book is part of the author's six volume American Pop Culture series which also includes releases on the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and noughties.
The book is described as:
... "The 1950s were a decade of contrasts — prosperity and paranoia, conformity and rebellion, tradition and transformation. American Pop: The 1950s takes readers on a deep dive into the era that shaped modern America, exploring how post-war optimism collided with Cold War fears, how rock ‘n’ roll disrupted the mainstream, and how the rise of television redefined entertainment, politics, and daily life.
"From suburban expansion and consumer culture to teenage rebellion and the atomic age, this book unpacks the defining cultural moments, movements, and icons that made the 1950s one of the most pivotal decades in American history. Discover how Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry revolutionized music, why television became the new hearth of the American home, and how Hollywood responded to McCarthyism. Explore the birth of youth culture, the rise of drive-in diners and rockabilly, and the social tensions bubbling beneath the glossy image of the era."
About the author: Taylor Prescott is a historian, writer, and educator with an M.A. in History, specializing in the cultural forces that shape society.
She teaches AP U.S. History and writes about how pop culture, media, and historical narratives intersect, evolve, and influence the way we understand the world.
Her work explores everything from music, television, and film to technology, consumer culture, and shifting social movements, examining how cultural moments are both products of their time and blueprints for the future. This is a fascinating interview covering many issues from Carlos’ interest in aviation, the “Lisa Marie” story pre-Elvis, and how the flight crew pranked Elvis before his first flight, to how EPE brought the “Lisa Marie” back home to its proper home at Graceland (the logistical arrangements make for absorbing reading), and what will surprise many readers, piloting the “Lisa Marie” in flight simulation games.
'Elvis UK Compact Vol. 2' OUT NOW:'Elvis UK Compact Volume 2' is the second volume of this major series of books (comprising three soft-backed print volumes) continues the story from where the already successful and widely acclaimed Volume 1 left off. - Volume 2 is OUT NOW! Volume 2 opens with CD 170 and concludes with CD 422.
As with Volume 1, apart from minor changes, the print copy edition contains exactly the same content as the downloadable, digital flip book version (entitled Elvis UK3 The Ultimate Guide To Elvis Presley’s British CD Releases 1983-2005), first issued in early 2021. Nothing has been added; nothing omitted.
This trilogy of books represents the first major attempt by anyone to chronicle in exhaustive and painstaking detail the rise of Elvis’s compact disc releases from 1983 onwards – cross-referenced, where relevant, with vinyl versions. And while focused on UK releases, there is a huge amount of overlap with other territories – especially Europe - which makes it of major interest to Elvis collectors throughout the world.

'From Here to the Great Unknown' Italian Version out now: The Italian version of Lisa Marie's memoir 'Da qui fino all'ignoto / From Here to the Great Unknown' was finally published on 14 January 2025
It is 352 pages and available here on Amazon.IT
EIN can hear Elvis asking, "Is it i-Talian, or ay-Talian?"
It is odd that the Italian version is out so late as other versions such as the Dutch version, far right, was published the same day as the English versions.
Elvis scholar, Dr. Mark Duffett has died: EIN has received very sad news that renowned Elvis academic, Dr. Mark Duffett, passed away at home last month (February 15), after a very short illness. He was only 55 years old.
Mark was a good friend to EIN, and internationally renowned as an expert in fan studies, cultural theory, film, and popular music. His interest in and zest for discussing Elvis was always a stimulating and rewarding conversation.
At the time of his passing, Mark was Associate Professor at the University of Chester in the UK, his research focus being on popular music and music fandom, with a special interest in Elvis.
In a message to EIN, Mark's colleague, Tom Attah, offered this reflection on his good friend:
... "His scholarship on the life, work, and legacy of Elvis Presley is world-leading in its excellence and remains inspirational in the field. Many scholars are familiar with the enormity of Mark’s kindness and learning; his incredible
talent, approachability, generosity, and his sincere and positive relationship with his colleagues, students, and friends. Mark was still working at the time of his passing, and his new writing on both Elvis and popular music autobiography will be forthcoming."
Mark's latest book about Elvis is 'Rethinking Elvis' and is due for publication next month.
EIN extends its sincere condolences to Mark's partner, Julie, and his extended family. Mark will be sorely missed, but long remembered, in both the academic and Elvis worlds. - Mark Duffett, R.I.P.

EIN can highly recommend this fabulous printed version - the first volume of three that will eventually make up the complete printed version of the outstanding reference E-Book 'Elvis UK3.'
While the original 1,400 page book was too large to print as a single volume, the author’s idea of splitting it into three volumes is a very clever idea.
Leafing through these 478 printed pages of 'Compact Volume 1' gave us another reason to dig deep into Elvis’ CD legacy and enjoying the fascination of some stunning Elvis releases.
"Elvis In Minnesota" New book: A new book Elvis In Minnesota by Robert Foley has been published.
The book covers Elvis' shows from 5 Nov 1971 to 30 April 77.
It includes lots of information about the shows, with concert reviews, photos memorabilia and comments.
EIN's Geoffrey McDonnell reviewed his copy noting...
.. "It is a similar style to a thorough and detailed Kieran Davis book.
Plenty of photos I had not seen before, especially about 13 photos from Elvis' Duluth 16th Oct 1976 show.
Due to the small print run - a limited edition - it is expensive but it is a nice hard-backed book, mostly in full colour and it's a keeper."

New Kindle novel - 'Last Bridge to Memphis' (Jim Condelles): Due for publication on March 3, this book is described as: ... "Elvis may be chewed up, spit out, and stepped on, but he sure ain't dead. Ten years after illness and scandal dragged his life into the dirt, he's searching for meaning in a world that's all but forgotten him. "Enter TV reporter Tom Cirone, a young man on the run from a tragic past and navigating a dangerous love affair. When he stumbles onto a deadly police cover-up, his relentless reporting puts a target on his back. But as the threats close in, a reluctant ally steps out of the shadows: Elvis Presley—alive, middle-aged, and on a mission of his own. "The pair find themselves shaking, rattling, and rolling down a path of blackmail and betrayal. Soon, they're caught in a trap— a deadly game of cat and mouse— and they may not walk out alive."
Pre-publication review:
.. "From debut author, Jim Condelles, comes a tale of 'what ifs.' Last Bridge to Memphis explores something we've all wondered ... what if Elvis never really died, and he walks among us, an ordinary man? Set in 1980s Memphis, this deeply satisfying thriller sends us careening into a discovery sprinkled with stardust. You won't be able to put this one down!" -- USA Today bestselling author Beth Albright
French language book - 'Le King et le Prophète' (Heloise Guay de bellisen): This French language softcover release has been announced for April 2.
The title translates as "The King and the Prophet".
Described as...
... The life of Elvis Presley is told by his stillborn brother, evoking the rock star's beginnings, his relationship with Priscilla, his career and his excesses.
It was a life also marked by the reading of Khalil Gibran's essay, The Prophet.
Elvis, who owned dozens of copies, commented on certain passages, leaving notes in the margins that are integrated into the story.
Following in the footsteps of this unique encounter between music and literature, Héloïse Guay de Bellissen has written a novel with a lively and captivating style, mixing spirituality and rock-and-roll. According to the original point of view of Elvis' twin brother, stillborn at birth, it is an unprecedented portrait of the King who thrilled America and the world.
Book Review - 'Marion Keisker: The Woman Who First Recorded Elvis Presley':Paul Belard's latest book is a detailed account of Marion Keisker's life and her key role in the Elvis story. "That woman was the one who had faith she was the one that pushed me... Marion did it for me" - Elvis Presley 1971 .. Marion was Sam Phillips' assistant when he established the Memphis Recording Service, and later Sun Records.
She is best remembered as the first person to record Elvis in July 1953, then encouraging Sam Phillips (numerous times) to record him "commercially", therefore playing a pivotal role in Elvis' ascent towards the pinnacle of his career.
Throughout interviews given, Marion discloses the workings of Sun Records, the sessions, Elvis' moods during those first days of his career. There is a trove of little known or unknown anecdotes many fans will delight in.
This book is a fitting and well-deserved tribute to Marion Keisker.'
The Bulletproof Souls (Jon Neville): Due for release next week, this 324-page hardcover novel from Grosvenor House Publishing, is predicated on the King of Rock and Roll.
The book description:
.. 3rd March 1960 - A plane carrying Elvis Presley lands at a snowy Scottish airport. An orchestrated meeting with the King of Rock and Roll is to set off a catastrophic chain of events.
14th February 1985 -A serial killer stalks the streets of Nottingham. Local band, The Bulletproof Souls have just played their biggest ever gig. Yet tragedy is waiting outside for them.
15th February 2022 - A mutilated body is found on a rain lashed Nottingham street. Right outside the music venue that played host to the ill-fated concert from thirty seven years ago. One of The Bulletproof Souls has been viciously murdered.
DCI Gideon Fox is struggling to put the jigsaw together. Are the events almost four decades apart connected? Can he solve it quickly, so he can deal with putting a certain Serbian crime lord behind bars?

(New book) 'Elvis October 1958 Vol. 1' (Paul Belard): Hot on the heels of his book about Marion Keisker, prolific author, Paul Belard, has also released the latest softcover in his "visual biography" series chronicling Elvis' life story.
The book is large sized (21.86 x 28 cm) and contains 224 pages. There are some color photos but most of the images are in b&w.
The book description on "Amazon": "After nine days at sea, the USS Randall docked at Bremerhaven, in Germany, on October 1st, 1958. Hordes of fans and reporters waited for its most famous passenger, Elvis Presley.
If he thought his popularity had waned since he was drafted, there is no doubt that this welcome must have been comforted him. Once on land, Elvis took the train to Friedberg, then reported to Ray Kaserne (Ray Barracks) where he would spend the rest of his military service.
"This day was somewhat similar to his induction day in Memphis in March. According to some accounts, 170 reporters and photographers were on duty, following Elvis during his first two days in Germany."
Paul B. has advised that the second volume of Elvis in October 1958 will be published soon as will another book, Elvis November 1958.

'200 Elvis concerts by The Fans For The Fans' New book: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the UK fan club 'Elvis Is King' the fan club president David Trotter has compiled a unique book from his UK archives of reviews of Elvis in concert and personal stories of Elvis.
The book is just over 200 pages - A5 in size and self-published.
Note the only photo featured is the front cover. "A live concert to me is exciting because of all the electrical generated in the crowd and on stage. It's my favourite part of the business" -Elvis Presley - September 4th 1972.
During the formative years of my 'Elvis Is King' fan club (founded in 1974), fans were traveling across the USA, following Elvis on tour, or attending Elvis' Las Vegas Engagements and Lake Tahoe appearances.
They would lovingly and dedicatedly send reports, reviews and accounts of seeing Elvis on stage, at hotels, in airports or in transport "as it happened".
These thrilling times, linking us to Elvis in a unique way, were typed up and mailed to me to be shared with members within the pages of my Monthly Magazine Newsletter.
In celebration of my 2024 Fan Club's 50th Anniversary these incredible memories - cherished within the Archives are shared here collectively for the first time in over five decades.
- They are for those old enough to remember the "glory days".
- They are here for the new fans discovering ELVIS.
- They are here for the generations yet to come, who will find ELVIS long after we all have left the world behind.
- So "Sit back and leave the driving to us" as Elvis would often say.
Take a deep breath as the lights dim, the Orchestra begins, and from the wings of the Hilton, and the waiting areas of the hallways, ELVIS comes back to you one last time. "For who knows when we'll meet again this way?"- David Trotter

Lisa Marie Presley Memoir (The Untold Pages of Life) a blatant rip-off!!: In December 2024, a new 142-page book was released titled, Lisa Marie Presley Memoir (The Untold Pages of Life).
The cover states Gloria Hodges as the author.
I suspect Ms Hodges (assuming that is her real name) may soon be experiencing a spot of potential legal action as her book is a blatant "rip-off" of the Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough best-seller, From Here to the Great Unknown. Ms Hodges has simply "tweaked" the original words from their book in publishing her book.
The first few sentences in both books highlight the fraud: Original: In the years before she died, my mother, Lisa Marie Presley, began writing her memoir. Though she tried various approaches, and sat for many book interviews, she couldn't figure out how to write about herself. She didn't find herself interesting, even though, of course, she was. She didn't like talking about herself. She was insecure.
Tweaked: Lisa Marie Presley, my mother, began writing her memoir years before her death. Despite trying several tactics and sitting for numerous book interviews, she couldn't find out how to write about herself. She did not feel herself intriguing, despite the fact that she was. She didn't enjoy talking about herself. She was insecure.
This is the latest in a worrying trend in the Elvis world of an author's work
being stolen. In recent years, Shirley Dieu's, Memphis Mafia Princess: Living in the Elvis World and Billy Stanley's, The Faith of Elvis: A Story Only A Brother Can Tell, were both blatantly stolen "word for word" and published by unscrupulous third parties. (News, Source:NigelP/ ElvisInfoNet)
