'For LP Fans Only / A Date with Elvis - Mono II Stereo' OUT NOW: From the french RDM label - Two classic albums, for the first time in stereo.

'For LP Fans Only' released in February 1959, brought together songs previously released on 45rpm or on EPs, such as the classics 'That's All Right', 'Lawdy Miss Clawdy', 'Mystery Train' or the song 'Poor Boy' from the soundtrack of the film 'Love Me Tender'.

'A Date with Elvis' was released in July 1959 based on the same principle of compiling previously published 45rpm or 'Extended Play' songs from Elvis' past. It contained other Elvis classics such as 'Blue Moon of Kentucky' and 'Good Rockin' Tonight' plus 'Baby, I Don't Care' and the haunting 'Is It So Strange'.

The stereo mixes on this CD, are the latest in our series of Mono-to-Stereo reissues created by producer Anthony Stuchbury, are authentic to original Mono releases but now sound more like the original studio sessions.
Fans can re-discover these 20 classic Elvis songs as if they were mixed in stereo for their initial release.

'New Script, Same Stage' New Import CD: Millbranch Music is back and focus their attention to Elvis´ music of the first 3 months of the year 1972!
“New Script, Same Stage” is a CD in a deluxe 2-panel Digi-Pack: We at Millbranch wanted to create an album that does justice to the recordings made at the beginning of 1972. For the part with the songs from the Opening show of January 26, 1972, we even had the opportunity to work with the original binaural tape and this clearly made an impact on the sound which presents the songs in a sound quality never heard before! (EIN Note- But the show was recorded on a mono cassette! wtf?)
With this CD, we want to pay tribute to that turbulent time of the recording sessions where Elvis presented his new show in Las Vegas in January and February with a lot of new songs in his setlist and turned his feelings into music at Hollywood RCA Studio C, given the fact
that his marriage was falling apart at the time. The result was a very emotional output of music as only Elvis was able to create because he had put his whole heart and feelings into the recordings, probably even meant as a public apology to his lost love. At least, the songs were kind of a statement – done coincidentally or not.
Although there never really was an Elvis Presley album from 1972 that had an impact as if recorded from the same mould, Elvis albums were indeed released that year. “Elvis Now” came out in January 1972, containing more folk-oriented songs such as Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” featuring the big hit “Put Your Hand in the Hand” by Gene MacLellan from a group called “Ocean”. Elvis had previously sung MacLellan’s “Snowbird,” which was a big hit for Anne Murray, who also had “Put Your Hand in the Hand” on her album. Additionally, “Elvis Now” included Gordon Lightfoot’s “Early Morning Rain.” In January, Elvis also released a single from the LP “Until It’s Time for You to Go” by Buffy Sainte-Marie and “We Can Make the Morning” by Jay Ramsey. In April 1972, the gospel LP “He Touched Me” was released along with the single “Bosom of Abraham.” The album won a Grammy Award in 1973 in the “Best Gospel Album” category. In June, the LP “As Recorded at Madison Square Garden” was released in a rush, making it to the stores within a week and earning Elvis a gold record by August 1972. Although the music for the albums, aside from “Madison Square Garden”, were all recorded in 1971, there were indeed recording sessions planned for 1972. RCA had made significant investments to record during the winter season in Las Vegas, where Elvis presented his completely new show - a no-nonsense show with more drama, more music, and less interaction with the audience. In March, at RCA Studio C in Hollywood, new songs were to be recorded. These songs became some of the most iconic Elvis Presley songs, including “Burning Love,” “Always on My Mind,” and “Fool” by James Last. Unfortunately, the songs mostly came out on budget LPs from RCA Camden and in 1973 on the album “Elvis,” which the public called “The Elvis Fool Album.” This record was mainly filled with various leftover songs from the archive. It is unfortunate that the songs and the concept of the songs from early 1972 were never released as a full album because when you hear all the songs in an order, they do indeed fit together.
We strongly believe that the songs on his new CD fit together very well! Hear Elvis at his best at the early stage of 1972 and make sure you´ll get your copy of our brandnew Millbranch release at your favorite dealer!
EIN NOTE: Millbranch Music is a reliable label but how odd they concentrate on Elvis 'Opening Night 1972' when it has recently been released in amazing STEREO by MRS.

'The King at the War Memorial' New Import CD:  A Straight Arrow release of an old 1976 AUDIENCE recording 'The King at the War Memorial' “From the Chris Brown master tapes Vol. 1”.
The publicity notes... Friday, June 25th 1976 Opening Show, War Memorial Auditorium, Buffalo, NY.
“My brother, David, a friend from our local church, Stephen Peslar, and I drove to Buffalo on Friday, June 25 to see the first show of a new tour.
Buffalo was less than a two-hour drive from Toronto, and there was no difficulty finding the “Aud.” We searched for tickets. I felt the added pressure of needing to find THREE tickets.
It was a very good show. I heard many songs live for the first time, with the highlights being two complete versions of HURT, AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, and performances of both POLK SALAD ANNIE and BURNING LOVE not often done in the same show.
It was also the first time I heard the extended AMEN following I GOT A WOMAN, which of course years later, and dozens of soundboards later, not a highlight anymore. Elvis also performed a new song for me tonight - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU (to Barbara).
This performance stands out as one of my favorites of the twenty-nine I saw. It was a really wild crowd (so many Canadians), and I think Elvis was surprised at their reaction to him. I miss seeing him in person. Always exciting, always fun, and always entertaining. A real joy. So long ago...”

'Ol’ Swivel Hips Still Wovs’ em' VINYL box-set: WOW, five albums of Elvis live in 1977 - get your friends over for a fun night of live music! The bootleg label calls in "Ol’ Swivel Hips Still Wovs' 'em" even on the front cover - when of course it should be Elvis "WOWS them" - not Wovs!
Described as .. a "5 LP + 4 CD Deluxe Box-Set" .. This super deluxe box set is focussing on Elvis’ third tour of 1977. Elvis’ live performances in 1977 are often criticized and not without a reason. (EIN Note; then please don't release these on vinyl!)
But Elvis was still offering his fans an enjoying time, the magic of seeing Elvis in person probably exceeded the fact he often delivered a standard and sometimes even mediocre performance.
The reactions of the spectators are very telling. They scream, shout and get wild for their hero. While listening to the recordings of these shows you cannot draw any other conclusion than that the shows were sometimes below par, although often with highlights!
This set contains soundboard & multitrack recordings. This set is very limited and available in RED or WHITE or MIXED vinyl.
Includes, April 23, 1977 Toledo,  April 26, Kalamazoo, May 3 Saginaw.

26. Elvis Says Hello To U.K. Fans (April 26, 1964)

'Keeping The Show Alive' New Import: SR Records announces Elvis’ January / February 1973 Vegas Vinyl/CD pack featuring January  27 1973 MS plus a Bonus CD of unreleased show from February 05, 1973, MS.
The publicity notes... The January show was previously released on CD (EIN Note: FTD 'From Vegas to Tahoe') but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound.
The vinyl will be accompanied by a CD with an unreleased show from the same season just a week later. A Must-have!
(EIN Note: Previously released as average AUDIENCE recording bootleg 'Thunderous Overture'.)
Elvis in the first week of the Vegas January and February season presents him at the top of his possibilities. The performances are outstanding and the shows are surely the best of the season.
Coming from just two weeks from the Aloha special was not the best way to face another Las Vegas season despite this in the first week of the season Elvis sings and is still very active on the stage. He performs all the songs to the maximum of his possibilities, presenting all the best of his repertoire from the previous TV special and placing his best rocker single Burning Love at the end of the show we have to wait another two years to have another live performance of Burning Love.
The two shows are great and now consist of a solid collection of great-quality songs well-performed. The range of Elvis’ performance is extensive we go from the oldies rocking with the two classic Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes to the power pop You Don’t Have To Say To Love Me, without forgetting the sensitive Until It’s Time For You To Go and the religious How Great Thou Art the autobiographical You Gave Me a Mountain ending with the best topic moment show the rocker Burning Love and the next single the solid rock blues Steamroller Blues without a doubt represent the highlight of the show.
Housed  in deluxe sleeve, 150-gram vinyl and Bonus  CD and FIVE  different vinyl colour VARIATIONS.

ELVIS - 70th Anniversary Special Release - 5 x SUN 78RPM 10” VINYL SUNSPLAT SET: To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Elvis’ first SUN record releases is a uniquely designed 5 record “SUN-splat” 78rpm vinyl release, out on the first week of July 2024.
These 5 magnificent SUN 10” (inch) singles play at 78RPM and only an extremely low number of these sets have been produced. This is the first time an Elvis SUN replica has been produced like this and designed to play at the original 78RPM speed.

Each of the 5 SUN records have the original etched numbers included with the appropriate song sides with the labels perfect (as the original) in size, accuracy, and colour. The sound quality is excellent matching the original SUN sound recordings (including ‘That’s All Right’), and each are pressed on heavy stock vinyl.

'The Blue Hawaii Sessions' Box-Set FTD In-Depth Review: Released last month, 'The Blue Hawaii Sessions' was the eleventh in FTD’s “complete sessions” packages. This is the audio-set that was released earlier as part of 'The Making Of Blue Hawaii'. The 8 inch deluxe 4-CD package includes the complete sessions "newly-mixed from the original 3-track tapes", a 24-page booklet with informative flashbacks from musicians, songwriters, session data, memorabilia and global chart information.
The set includes 50 'officially previously unreleased' session outtakes. However most of these have to be 'False-Starts'.
There is however over four hours of Polynesian influenced material to enjoy and lots of studio banter to eavesdrop on. The set also includes all twenty-nine takes of Elvis' classic chart-topper Can’t Help Falling In Love.

Over 5000 words EIN's Piers Beagley investigates in-depth what this new set offers and whether the previously unreleased outtakes add anything to our understanding of this important soundtrack session.....

'Elvis Seventy Three' New Import: The Reeltrax label is back with “Elvis Seventy Three” a 2-disc set with two complete shows from Elvis´ August 1973 engagement at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas:
With CD 1 of this set you will be able to step back in time with Elvis Presley’s closing night performance from September 3, 1973. For the first time, experience this iconic show which easily can be seen as one of the most unusual performances of Elvis´ career in correct speed and superior sound quality, thanks to a meticulous Matrix mix of soundboard and audience recordings. This new mix reveals intricacies and audience interactions previously unheard, capturing the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in his element.
The closing night concert is renowned for its humorous touch – for instance when Elvis had a toy monkey on his back (all through the first two songs of the show) while being carried on stage on the back of Lamar Fike or when a red velvet bed had been placed on stage during the show with Elvis sitting on it while singing “What Now My Love” and pretending to “search”
for his love in the bed. And especially when he totally mixed up the music and lyrics of “Suspicious Minds” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. But the concert is also known for its heartfelt and rare performances like "Help Me Make It Through The Night", “Softly As I Leave You” and a fantastic "How Great Thou Art" with multiple reprises, among others.
Additionally, to make sure the content of this CD is 100% the “real” closing night show we did not use the first 6 songs from the soundboard of the dinner show of the same date (which has been done this way before on an earlier release of the show), but chose to include them from an ambiance recording which has been made at closing night (see Tracklist below). It’s a pity that those first six songs have not been recorded on soundboard back in 1973.
CD 2 presents the midnight show of August 7, 1973, sourced from an ambiance recording which offers a very good sound. Elvis himself mentioned during the concert that he and his band were enjoying their time on stage, which led him to extend his performance, adding a personal touch to this memorable evening. One of only two versions of “Funny How Time Slips Away”, sung during the August 1973 season, and “Faded Love”, performed live for its fourth and final time are real highlights.
But actually the setlists of BOTH shows in this 2-CD set contrast the energy from the beginning to the end of Elvis’s stint, highlighting both his serious and playful side on stage.
The show on CD 2 has previously been released at a wrong speed on 28 years ago. This corrected version now allows fans to hear Elvis as he truly sounded.
Enhance your Elvis collection with this definitive edition, featuring no less than a variety of 9 bonus tracks showing the fun Elvis had during the Las Vegas Summer season of 1973.
EIN NOTE: The Sept 3, 1973 Closing Show was released by FTD from soundboard on 'Closing Night'
August 7, 1973 Midnight Show was previously released as audience bootleg 'Top Acts in Vegas Vol. 6'

'Our Memories Of Elvis Vol.3' New Import Vinyl: Yet more bootleg vinyl - the Victory Records label publicity notes... After the untimely death of Elvis in August 1977 Elvis' record company quickly reissued a big part of the Elvis catalogue on vinyl. The demand was obviously huge and the staff had to work overtime. After ‘Elvis in Concert’ a lot of compilation and special product albums were released, but Joan Deary definitely felt the fans were in need for something special. She released ‘a legendary performer volume 3’ containing some unreleased tracks.
Shortly afterwards she produced the excellent release ‘Our Memories Of Elvis’ in February 1979. The album claimed to contain tracks without additional accompaniment, but for real the album featured stripped down versions, not the undubbed masters that the fans thought they were listening to. Although not being as big of a seller as expected, the album has always been a fan favorite and paved the road for a 'volume 2'. A volume 3 of 'Our Memories Of Elvis' was planned but never realized, until now! Now available is this super limited edition 14 track 180 grams album.
This release contains two bonus cds containing the LP tracks and many bonus tracks. This is the pure Elvis!
EIN NOTE: 'Our Memories Of Elvis Vol3' has been previously released on bootleg..

'ELVIS: At 3am Sahara Tahoe 1973' MRS CD Review: This Deluxe 2CD set features two shows from Elvis’ May 1973 engagement at The Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Included is a rare 3am charity performance as well as the midnight show from the previous night.
Both shows for the first time are presented in stereo.
The accompanying booklet includes memorabilia and rare photos along with liner notes that set the scene.
Despite having to perform three concerts in the one evening, Elvis was feeling inspired and although it was 3am he still treated the ‘Mother’s Day’ benefit more like a Closing Night performance. Elvis was in extremely jovial spirits, teasing the band and adding some crazy lyrics. He also added unique live versions of ‘My Way’, ‘Faded Love’, ‘Funny How Time Slips Away’ and a rare ‘It’s Over’.
With the cassette hiss removed, the musicians and backing-vocals in stereo and Elvis’ vocal raised to the correct level, this MRS release sounds just like an RCA recorded multi-track and is the best representation of the “real Elvis” live in 1973 that fans could hope for.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley checks out a sensational STEREO Elvis double-pack.

'Rags To Riches' Import Vinyl Set: The publicity notes... Millbranch Music is excited to introduce the (limited to 300 copies) vinyl edition of our acclaimed album “Rags To Riches”, a continuation of the success from last year's CD release. This special edition honors Elvis Presley's legendary June and September 1970 Nashville sessions, where he collaborated with a distinguished group of musicians to produce some of the most heartfelt and enduring music of his career.
During the June 1970 sessions, Elvis worked with legendary guitarist James Burton, whose electric guitar licks enhanced

tracks such as "Patch It Up" and "I've Lost You", as well as the talented Norbert Putnam, whose bass lines provided the foundation for "The Next Step is Love". The September sessions saw Elvis collaborating with the same high caliber musicians, including the gifted pianist David Briggs, whose contributions helped to define the sound of songs like "I Really Don't Want To Know" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
This vinyl release includes special printed inner sleeves with liner-notes titled “Designed to Be Beautiful”, exploring the reasons why these sessions capture some of Elvis' most beautiful and mature work, a creative peak in his career. Also, the black vinyl edition includes a bonus CD, and a bonus photo from the "That's The Way It Is" motion picture, providing a visual complement to the music.
Our goal with this vinyl edition is to present the music as it was intended, highlighting the distinct qualities of the mono mixes, the special mastering done for this vinyl edition cements that sentiment. This release is a celebration of Elvis’ legacy, the talented musicians who worked with him, and the timeless music they created together. Now available at your favorite dealer, this edition invites fans and newcomers alike to experience Elvis Presley's music in a format that pays homage to the artist's significant contributions to music, underscored by the exceptional talent of the session musicians from those pivotal Nashville sessions.
EIN NOTE: Do we really want MONO LPs in 2024? Elvis was recording in "stereo" so was mono really as intended?

'The King In The City of Six Flags' New Import: Straight Arrow is back with “The King in The City of Six Flags” Elvis' tour opening show in Mobile, Alabama, June 20, 1973.
Every tour opening concert, was a special one, and this show is not an exception. Compared with the previous April tour, Elvis was really full of enthusiasm, in great voice and fantastic mood. These June / July 73 shows are definitely best of the year! There is no need to describe every great performance of this evening but two of them stand out: fantastic versions of “How Great Thou Art” and “An American Trilogy.”
The Mobile, June 20th, 1973, 8:30pm tour opening show is previously unreleased until now! This show was not available in acceptable sound previously. Our release has been taken directly from the 24bit digital transfer made in December 2010, of the previously unreleased original audience-recorded cassette by Elvis fan, Bob Cleveland, from the USA. Every second was faithfully enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. The sound has been remastered to the correct speed.
Ask your local CD vendor for teasers!
Presented in the usual Straight Arrow fashion with the top notch digipack including collection of the photos of Elvis June 1973 tour and review from local Mobile Press, this new release is the beauty that you must not miss!

'Fighting To Stay Alive- 1977' New Import: Do fans really want to listen to a 1977 concert described as 'Fighting To Stay Alive'?
Well if you do, VV records are releasing it  in both CD and Vinyl!  Their publicity notes...
'Fighting To Stay Alive' focusses on Elvis’ Feb 1977 tour, featuring shows from February 20 and 21, 1977, the first previously unreleased on vinyl while the second taken directly from the original high-quality tape.
The February shows were previously released on CD but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound. The vinyl will be accompanied by a CD compilation with combines the best of the two Charlotte shows giving us a complete show. A Must-have!
The VV intends to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility. Elvis the Charlotte's two final concerts of the February tour are undoubtedly the best moments of Elvis in 1977,
presenting him at the top of his possibilities (EIN, Really??!) , delivering two great shows. If Rock is an attitude, then the man still has it. The performances are very good and the shows are surely the best of the tour.
Elvis sings and is still very active on the stage He performs all the songs to the maximum of his possibilities, presenting all the best of his repertoire from the previous years combined with the last 1976 single Hurt, and introducing a new single  Moody Blue together the “new” unchained melody inside his repertoire ranging in all musical genres as only he can do.
We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality and overall a great bonus CD to be able to obtain a result that you can enjoy too.
The two shows are great and now consist of a solid collection of great-quality songs all well-performed. The range of Elvis’ performance is extensive we go from the oldies rocking with the two classic Little Sister and Jailhouse Rock to the power pop last single Moody Blue, without forgetting the sensitive My Way and the religious How Great Thou Art the autobiographical You Gave Me a Mountain ending with the best topic moment show the powerful pop ballad Unchained Melody where Elvis accompanied himself at the piano and without a doubt represent the highlight of the complete tour.
This new VV special Product will be housed  in a deluxe 300 grams Gatefold sleeve that includes  together the two 150-gram vinyl and Bonus  CD.
To have a special collector’s item, the 500 copies will be presented with FIVE different vinyl color VARIATIONS. All the copies will come with Glossy Stickers hand-numbered and individually sealed

French Record Store Day ELVIS VINYL; The French VPI label is releasing two Elvis albums (Public Domain) for Record Store Day April 20, 2024.

'Elvis Presley - I'm Counting On Them': This album brings together two songwriters, both pianists, who have contributed remarkably to the work and career of the King. If Otis Blackwell excelled in rock'n'roll of which he was one of the great artisans (he gave Elvis no less than three number 1s), Don Robertson was a master in the art of the ballad (several of his compositions will appear on the B side of successful singles). Two exceptional artists who deserve to be included in the Pantheon of Music!...

'Elvis Presley - Elvis Styles'
In 1960, the famous composer Leonard Bernstein said: "Elvis Presley is the greatest cultural force of the 20th century... He introduced rhythm to everything and he changed everything, the music, the language, the clothes, it's a whole new social revolution from which the 60s came from." And it’s true that Elvis knew how to sing EVERYTHING! This triple album offers 54 tracks, the vast majority of which are alternatives. A unique compilation, never before made, exceptional in every way, on the different facets of the artist.

‘Elvis Presley - Rock‘n’Roll No. 2’ Mono II Stereo’: From the RDM label........ Rediscover Elvis Presley's second album with a new stereo mix! Simply titled "Elvis", it is presented here with the addition of eight singles, and is the second in a series of new mono-to-stereo mixes of classic Presley albums, created by producer Anthony Stuchbury. The cover art for the British version of the album, titled "Elvis Presley No.2", released via HMV in April 1957, was significantly different from the American version. A mustard yellow background was added to a black and white photo from September 1956, while a font similar to that used on the first album completed the rock 'n' roll vibe. Following the expiration of HMV's license in 1958 for Presley's Uk recordings, this title was removed and quickly became a highly sought-after collector's item. RCA UK would return to the American cover for its reissue of the album in December 1962. However as the album was affectionately nicknamed "Rock 'n' Roll No.2" in British fan circles we have used the same subtitle.
This new Mono II Stereo CD edition pays homage to the now legendary British cover and allows you to rediscover 20 songs that have marked the history of rock! - Out April 2024.

... FTD Vinyl is pleased to announce the release of Elvis’ last studio album in Limited Edition Gold Sparkle 180-Gram vinyl.

'Elvis Presley At 3am: Sahara Tahoe 1973' New MRS:
The Deluxe 2CD set features two shows from Elvis’ May 1973 engagement at The Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Included is a rare 3am charity performance as well as the midnight show from the previous night.
Both shows for the first time are presented in stereo.
The accompanying booklet includes memorabilia and rare photos along with liner notes that set the scene.
MRS official publicity has not been released yet but EIN notes that the 3am show is in very good quality audio and Elvis is loose, having fun, the mix is excellent and captures an important part of Elvis' emotional year.
Similarly the Midnight concert is a very good performance, with a lovely ‘Im Leavin’, ‘I’ll Remember You’ and stunning ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’.
Also the shows feature Emory Gordy playing bass guitar which is an interesting change since it is Emory Gordy's thundering bass that drives along the 'Burning Love' single so fabulously.

The VINYL version only features the 3am performance

New MRS special 'Vinyl EP/CD' Releases: Exclusively to Elvis dealers only, next month MRS will release two very collectable titles both comprising a 7” gatefold 45rpm vinyl EP single housed together with a sleeved CD EP single.
These are expected to be released early March 2024.
This unique packaging, designed and created by MRS, comprises on the inside left panel a CD wallet inserted into a slot and on the right panel a vinyl 45rpm 7” EP single. The 45rpms will be available in both black and crystal-clear vinyl.
Since these two titles will NOT be available on mainstream internet sites and stores, these releases are in extremely limited numbers.

These two uniquely designed EPs are, ‘Elvis Presley & Frank Sinatra – Welcome Home Elvis’ and ‘Follow That Dream’.

- Elvis Presley & Frank Sinatra – Welcome Home Elvis
Throughout his career, Elvis only performed one live duet with another artist – in this case, Frank Sinatra, another great icon of his time which was recorded on 26 March 1960 in Miami. The show itself, ‘The Frank Sinatra Timex Show’ was broadcast on 12 May 1960.

Taken from a recently discovered original acetate, this historic recording has been carefully remastered and is presented here in the best quality ever.

- Follow That Dream
For the first time ever, the master tracks from the Elvis movie Follow That Dream (1961) are now available in true living stereo and have been mixed to the recordings that were originally conceived.

At the time of the studio session the crucial stereo masters were lost, which meant that subsequently only mono versions have ever been released. Until now...

Go here to check out the great sounding YouTube STEREO song samples - put on your headphones!

Note that the YouTube sound samples are compressed compared to the actual MRS releases. They still sound fabulous in stereo.

'The King In Motown City' New '77 Import CD: The EP Collector Label is back with another unique release of Elvis show in Detroit, April 23rd, 1977. AUDIENCE recording
This was the very last show that Elvis played in Detroit, primarily known as the center of the automobile industry, where three major car manufacturers operate - Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, hence the nickname Motown ("motor city").
The April 22nd, 1977 concert was previously released in 2006 on the extremely poor sounding CD "The King Has Landed" with several tracks being incomplete. This show was never available in solid, listenable sound - until now! The new tape was obtained from an American fan and has been carefully restored and mastered in January 2024, with a focus on preserving the integrity of the original recording. Hence, some minor hiss may be present; we felt it more important to keep the high frequencies and natural ambience of the original recording for historic reasons. The sound is very good for an off line recording - ask your CD dealer for audio samples!
As usual the CD is packaged in a nicely designed digipack with local press review. All images used for the artwork were taken during April 1977 tour including real Detroit photos.
EIN Note: Elvis played Detroit on April 22 1977,  not April 23rd!
The concert did not get great reviews

'Elvis '68 Unleashed' Double-Vinyl: The first vinyl release from Reel Trax, a new 2LP set 'Elvis '68 Unleashed' The Legendary Standup Shows.
After the great success of our recent CD release from December of last year which has been inspired by the celebration of the 55th Anniversary of Elvis' legendary NBC-TV Special we decided to release the soundtrack now carefully remastered for vinyl – on a stunning looking 12-inch 2-LP set and for even better sound results to be played at 45 RPM!
Vinyl collectors are well aware that two RPMs are widely available now: 33 and 45 revolutions per minute. 45 RPM records have better sound quality than 33 ⅓ RPM records do. This is because they have more grooves for the turntable's needle to read and can express more complex and nuanced sound patterns as a result.

Step back in time and relive the extraordinary talent of Elvis Presley. "Elvis Unleashed '68" pays tribute to a musical icon who lives on forever in the hearts of millions of fans around the world. We revisit the probably most vibrant scenery of the so-called '68 “Comeback”. Reel Trax is bringing back the magic with a brandnew 2-LP release. Carefully curated and remastered in great-sounding Stereo in a highly valued professional studio in Europe, the legendary Standup shows are coming to new life.

The sensational looking double album complete with liner notes from those who were there in 1968 (and written especially for this release!) is a real eye-catcher and informative as well. This album captures the raw and unrestrained energy of Elvis Presley like never before. It transports you directly to the iconic standup shows of “The King”, recorded in June 1968.
After a period of absence from the stage, Elvis made a triumphant return to the spotlight with a short series of unforgettable concerts before a close audience. Meant to be shown in parts in the then upcoming TV-Special simply called “ELVIS” it was a sensational appearance in its own. In general it was a time when he rediscovered his musical roots while filming the special and he delivered his art with pure passion. With an impressive collection of timeless classics, breathtaking vocal performances, and spontaneous interactions with the audience, "Elvis Unleashed '68" reveals the true essence of a legendary artist at the peak of his power.

‘AT 3:AM – LAKE TAHOE 1973’ MRS Press release: UK Label ‘Memphis Recording Service’ (MRS) will release a deluxe 2CD set, and an LP  titled ‘AT 3:AM – LAKE TAHOE 1973’ both on 23rd February 2024.
The CD features live performances of both the Midnight and 3:AM concerts from Elvis’ May 1973 engagement at The Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
The shows are presented in stereo for the first time ever.
The accompanying booklet - featuring rare photographs, memorabilia and  includes liner notes that set the scene.

EIN Note: A new high-res image of the front cover was provided and you can see that the design is a stunner.

'Elvis Presley At 3am: Sahara Tahoe 1973' New MRS: The UK MRS label are releasing a new set 'Elvis Presley At 3am: Lake Tahoe 1973' out at the end of February 2024.

CD Review 'The Joan Deary Tapes Vol1' - and has Ernst won the war?’: Two years ago EIN posted an article suggesting that the Elvis bootleg era was over, that FTD and Ernst Jorgensen had truly won the war.
So it was a surprise to many that a new bootleg label ‘Joan Deary Inc’ suddenly popped up two months ago promising a very similar series of releases to the Madison ‘A Legendary Performer’ set.
They promised "Unique content... with never issued before outtakes. Some very different mixes among other glorious sounding tracks. Every track comes in great sound quality and has been remastered for optimal listening pleasure..."
EIN was suspicious from the start - to be honest I saw no need to purchase this CD - but several EIN readers wanted to know more before they put down their hard earned cash.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley investigates to see if there is life in this new series of Elvis bootleg releases...
Please read this before ordering ... we've done the work so that you don't have to!
